Travelogue -- a New World MMP

I’m exhausted and there’s 2 weeks left til school starts.

:frowning:
Today is my whole-department, all-day meeting. I’m outta here in a few, and in small group meetings with all my drivers and monitors for the day. We get muffins and things for breakfast, and boxed lunches for lunch, and the room I’m in has wireless access, so if the other folks in the room I’m leading get dull, I may pop in and tell y’all about it.

It sounded like a full thermonuclear exchage happened outside the VunderLair at 4AM. When a thunderstorm wakes me up completely like that, it was a good 'un…

SwampBeer, I gotta know what you’d do on the Miller customer service line.

"Your six pack was skunky? You can do 1 of 2 things:

  1. Make a lot of beer-butt chicken.

  2. Throw it out and go get another. And we’ll know if you get Budweiser instead…"

Quit standing behind your busses…

If he doesn’t stand behind his BUSSES, who would? No one else owns his lips… :stuck_out_tongue:
Mindfield–there is no dialysis for a messed up liver–you’re thinking kidneys (I think). Acetaminophen is nothing to play around with. It’s a silent, slow killer if taken in toxic doses. One of the problems with it is that it is used in combo with so many other drugs–cold meds, pain killers etc and sold by itself. If you don’t read the labels (and don’t know), you can easily exceed the recommended dosage and start to do damage.
Off to work. Am tired–need to stop reading in bed until 1230 am. Duh. Party tomorrow-not ready for it, but I’m in denial.

I was wondering if you got that rain too. I got woken up around 2:30 by a lightning bolt that hit one of the power company towers in the neighbor’s backyard. Pretty neato.

Congrats, Grandma kai.

Oh, kai, she is just beautiful!

rosie, that is such a cool sign!

mork, what rigs said. You do NOT want to be on a transplant list.

scl, will check out your pitting next.

swampster, you would be Jake in that position.

The pool deck got texturized yesterday. It gets painted today. It is going to have a light cream border and then the bulk will be somewhat darker. The pug dog continues to be fascinated with the big hole in her yard. I took her down into it early last night so she could check it out but she’s as curious as ever.

Well, I gots about five minutes before I have to go to a “name the golf course” meeting.

Tupug

 I dun been whooshed. I also admit to a possible spelling error, which the set up the situation.

Since I have been duly nominated and elected to host next week’s MMP, I shall post the scenarios that a couple of my team members and me came up with to respond to consumer complaints. It was decided that I really should answer the phone for Miller. Let’s just say it’s nice when your co-workers hold ya in such high honor.

Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienated here. Actually, for some reason I was up at eight after havin’ gone to bed a little after one this mornin’. I’ve read the local paper and had numerous cups of caffiene. I need to go purty up soon, I guess. No big plans, just feel the need to get presentable for the day.

Mindude hope you’re feelin’ better. Like others have said though, cut back on the acetaminophen, seriously. Used as directed it’s a good pain reliever. Overused, it can be a killer. We cannot have you daid. Who else is gonna fight the evil ice cream truck for us?

it goes like this:

[del]then **rigs ** was alluding to the correct way to blow up a bus…[/del]:smack:
No! “buss” is archaic for kiss! You’ve got to stand behind your own kisses!

our new “walking” outfit is real cute - we’re gonna look like “stereotypical” barbershoppers - white shirt, red striped vest, red bow tie, and red arm garters. I’m giddy.

That nails me as a technogeek. Fully unaware of the archaic definition; buss (and now bus) is the term for an electrical terminal with many taps, much like the a breaker panel without the breakers in the way. Named for the guy who invented it, <something> Buss.

ETA: mine was an allusion to an old Confucius Says oneliner: He who runs behind car get exhausted…

Poor BrainPasture! Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Glad the memorial service went well, SCL. The rest of your day sounds crazy though! Neo-nazis protesting at the library? Sheesh!

One of my coworkers is having a goodbye-to-Harry-Potter party tomorrow night so I’m making wizard cupcakes. Should be fun.

also I goofed - I thought **MBG ** was questioning the response :smack:
not enough sleep or caffeine
eta:

yes, and funny. (well, I laughed anyway, but that could have been the lack of sleep)

Oo Oo Oo! Name it after me!!!

I had my phone interview for a part time position on August 6, and wasn’t too sure on how it went. I felt that that I talked too much, and they didn’t have any questions for me other than if I knew Adobe Professional and Visio. In which, I have used both of them, and am comfortable in them.

I’ve been waiting on pins and needles all week waiting to hear if I would get a formal interview. I’ve been very nervous, and trying not to think about it, since I know interviews are next week. I got a call today saying asking if I was still interested in the position, and if I was to set up a formal interview. I have a formal interview on August 22 at 10 a.m. YAY!! Now I hope it goes ok.

That’s the only thing new in my world. Other than I’m itching to get to crafting. I haven’t had any time all week to play around with my scrapping stuff. Guess what I’m doing tonight. Now to get through the work day first…

Morning, all. I had a weird night, woke up feeling more tired than I went to bed. Tired enough, in fact, that I went and put the filter and coffee in the coffeemaker and then went back a few minutes later to pour, only to realize I’d failed to put in any water. :smack:

Cool baby birthday sign, rosie! And the new outfits sound fun. You guys dress up real fancy, don’t you? The groups I always sang with just went for boring black dresses.

Neo-Nazis at the library? What is the world coming to when Neo-Nazis peacefully protest a public institution? And why does it sound funny as well as obnoxious?

I’m glad the memorial service for Libby went so well, SCL. And I read your pit thread. There isn’t enough  in the world for that classless woman. Good on her family, though, for laughing about it; that’s the best possible reaction. Other than the social ostracization she’s now going to receive, which she so richly deserves.

I guess I’d better get back to work. Much as I don’t want to.

You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet!

You’re telling me good night at 1:43 am? I don’t know about you, but that’s squarely morning for me. . . .just not my awake time yet.

You didn’t answer my earlier question about the shower because if you didn’t take a shower, you aren’t getting a hug. . .group, grope or otherwise! :stuck_out_tongue:

sean, the “Sean Factotum Golf Course”. . . it just doesn’t ring to me. YM obviously V.
**
McUNE**, congrats on getting to the formal interview and good luck on that.

What kind of crafting do you do? Do you take scrapbook making classes? I don’t do much scrapbooking, but I just had a day of fun a couple weeks ago with a friend doing rubber stamping. The two hobbies are pretty similar.

Agh, don’t remind me. I am not looking forward to my move.

Kai, congrats on the kiddies! So adorable!

Friend doesn’t have internet! So here I am sitting at Caribou. They only give you a hour though. Boo.

Have much stuff to do within the hour, so must dash. But miss you all already! Muah!

Roo, I do scrapbooking, I have taken classes, but tend to do more looking at something and then making it myself. More than scrapbooking, I alter things. I take something plain and dress it up with my supplies. Give me mod podge, paper, some rhinestones, and I’m good to go, LOL. I do card making, in fact that’s what I have to do tonight, is make some thank you cards. I have made bridal shower invitations for co-workers too. I do rubber stamping, although I have more stamps that I need to really do more with. I love them. I also do a bit of sewing, I’m determined to do more of that. I’m not the best, but really want to learn. If I have a pattern with complete instructions I do ok.

Ok, I can really get to talking about crafting/scrapbooking, so I better stop now before I bore everyone.

Gooooood moooorning!

Ack! It’s Friday! I only have two more days after today and then I must go back to work. These last two weeks have just flown by. I wanna be on permanent vacation, dammit. Damn these creditors and our mortgage for actually wanting money from us. They should love us so much that everything is free! Yeah, I know, nice little fantasy I’ve got going there, huh?

I don’t craft. As a kid, I made a leather purse (from some kit), I tried needlepoint, and I tried latchhook. I also did watercolor. I actually finished the latch hook project. It was big. I was just never that into it, I guess.

Now, I just don’t have the inclination or time. Someday, I’d like to throw pots, maybe. I’d like to get into photography too. I need a better camera though. Both of mine have seen much better days. I used to get complimented quite often on my pics.

Nothing exciting or of note going on. I need to get myself a cup of joe.

Did I get the next page?

ETA: No, dammit.
