Trinidad and Tobago

I applied for a job in Trinidad & Tobago (in the Caribbean, just a few miles off the coast of Venezuela) and was interviewed on the phone a couple of weeks ago. Now they want to fly me down for a second interview, in-person. THIS Friday! Anybody here spent any time there and can give me some tips? I lived in Jamaica for a couple of years.

Who’s paying for the flight, etc?

The potential new employers are covering my expenses.

Not sure what you want to know. I’m from Trinidad so I could help out. Its probably a lot like Jamaica in terms of customs/traditions (both being former British colonies) but Trinidad is more racially mixed and (supposedly) has a better economy. Also the dialect is quite different from Jamaica but similarly hard to understand. And crime is high but I think you probably know that after living in Jamaica. I’ve never been to Jamaica so I’m probably not much help with comparisons there. If you don’t mind me asking, who is the potential employer?

The racial mix includes a goodly share of India Indians, so the cuisine has plenty of curry, etc.
It’s a pretty quiet place, and can become boring fast for tourists.
Except for the tar pits and ibis reserve, which are not exactly places to visit often.
