Well, it’s terrible news (2025 is already a hell of a year), but I feel better knowing that they’ll be remembered well here, and that each time I see TriPolar’s name come up in an old thread, I’ll still be hearing an echo of a vibrant poster. It’s not the best immortality, but it’s some solace to us perhaps.
I’ll add my thanks to everyone else’s needscoffee, but I’ll spare you another @ - you’re probably seeing more than enough notifications as is.
I am sad to hear the news. I’ve read his posts for years, and while I didn’t always agree with him, I certainly had to respect him. Articulate and erudite; he always had something to say that made me think.
There is a small set of posters here whose posts I always read, no matter the subject. He was one of those posters. Thank you for the news, and my condolences to his family. And thank you for the link to the obituary.
It was always a source of comic bonding between the both of us. Especially how we both “aspired to [each other’s] elevated, congenial wit; suave style; deep sense of historic acomplishment; ruggedly-handsome looks; and magnetic attractiveness.”
This is sad news indeed . . . With his passing goes all of the aforementioned attributes.
Tripler
God Speed you devilishly magnificent son-of-a-gun.
It’s amazing to me how one can be saddened by the death of someone they never met in the flesh. It’s amazing to me how one can have a positive impact on someone they’ve never met in the flesh. TriPolar will certainly be missed but I’m glad we had him around for as long as we did.
