But no, for focusing on a different thing related to the war, you come in six hours after the last post on the thread and tell us how whiney we are because we weren’t focused on the news of the deaths sufficiently enough for you.
You know what? I have several friends over there flying as we speak, my cousin’s sitting in a Bradley right now, and I’m on the hook for whenever they want to send me, which could be anytime up to and including RIGHT THE FUCK NOW.
I am concerned more than you can possibly imagine. Should that be my sole focus, to the detriment of everything else? No, of course not. And so it is here. We were talking about something tangential, in my case it was to finally talk about something unrelated to casualties or war strategies or plans, and you come in late and tell us (including me) how breezily unconcerned we are.
Thank you for showing me the error of my ways. I’ll stick to the most important and newest news at all times, and I’ll be the very first person to voice my concern on every single thread about the war that comes up, so you can see how good my focus is.
but Airman, didn’t you read the memo? Everything else in the world has to stop the second any casualties were inflicted upon the Coalition forces, even if it was an accident.
First off, I’d like to take this moment to thank all the little people that helped me get here… this may be my first full pitting. Thank you, thank you all!
Second, Airman Doors, I’m really kind of blindsided here. While you may not know it, I respect the hell out of you, and have always appreciated your posts.
For the record, and in my defense, I didn’t intend that statement at you. I am well aware that casualties and the potential thereof is probably more on your mind than 99% of the rest of us here. I would never even think to imply that it wasn’t for you. I’ve only got a brother and a few friends, and it keeps jumping into my thoughts througout the day.
My intention was to hopefully stop the squabbling children in the thread, and maybe get them to rethink their stupid arguement. I don’t know if it worked or not, but one of the few folks in the thread who I’ve pretty much agreed with wholeheartedly took offense, which means I blew it, and apparently worded it the worst way possible.
I’m truly sorry. I hope that you can forgive me, and know that I didn’t intend to upset or otherwise attack you in any way.
Great, now I feel a little sheepish. And my knee hurts from the jerk I just had.
Talk about completely misunderstanding something. I think you can see where I was coming from, though. You posted that right after I got involved in the discussion, and naturally I thought it was aimed at me as well as the others.
That being said, I’d like to apologize for calling you a jerk, and thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding.
I feel like I’m in that Monty Python Argument Sketch, only instead of walking into the room for abuse, I’ve walked into the room where every one resolves their issues with a modicum of human empathy and reasonability.
Careful with all this civility or they’ll move this from the Pit. I opened this with a bit of apprehension because both Doors and Tristan usually seem very reasoned and measured and here they’ve gone and demonstrated such qualities again. Nice job and Airman, best regards buddy.
