Eh, give him a break. His internet history is probably monitored by his mother, and the only way he can justify looking at pictures of naked men is by claiming he was doing it to support his party. I can understand why he would be upset at that being taken away from him.

Yes, but I mean that the only reason Sir Mix-a-Lot was aware of Fonda’s condition of posterior slenderness in the first place (which I think was what Great_Antibob was asking about) was because of her recent widespread workout-video fame. Not because of her acting career or her earlier Vietnam-activism notoriety.
But she wasn’t a traitor. The FBI was looking hard at her (and others) for evidence she was being a traitor. And it’s not like the FBI if that time was pure and innocent of lying about celebrities or making up stuff. So if Hoover dropped it, there was really nothing to use against her.
I have listened to 2 very different podcasts on Fonda - Decoder Ring, which mainly focused on her workout era and You Must Remember This, which covered and compared the careers of Jane Fonda and Jean Sebring. YMRT’s episodes presented Fonda’s trip as more about the farmers and destruction of innocents by the US Air Force, and that the infamous photo was a done reluctantly. That trip and her actions really upset the American Legion who protested her long after pretty much everyone else stopped. But it was enough to become a meme that’s lived on.
Which is a lot less evidence and action than Trump has against him.

I suppose it’s hopeless to ask you for anything remotely resembling a cite for these alleged “facts”? Because really, dude, unless you can supply some reliable evidence that you’re not just repeating the usual unhinged conspiracy theories manufactured in conservative circlejerks, you can’t expect anyone to take your accusations of double standards seriously.
Conservatives seem to have perfected a sort of tribal “cargo-cult controversy” ritual, where as long as they can superficially look and sound like they’re making serious damaging political accusations (corruption! international influence! sexual misbehavior! coverups!), their accusations don’t need to have any basis in reality.
Like post-WWII indigenous Pacific Islanders building imitations of control towers and runways and headphones and so on in the hope that sympathetic magic will cause their deities to send planes airdropping valuable goods, conservatives are mimicking the style of liberal exposes of conservative corruption, and hoping that it will somehow magically cause the same sort of scandals to infest liberal politics. They’ve become so detached from reality that I think many of them honestly no longer recognize the difference between actual scandals and made-up ones.
I hope so because octopus isn’t that nuts as far as I know.
