Trolls R Us Resurrections

You left out the part where they get banned for being socks, trolls, and trocks.
I suggest that you go to the OP of this thread and start reading down from there.

Maybe you could stop lying. I don’t know how to help you with that.

aka “But Ma! He hit me back first!”

I suggest Bizarro Superman cosplay-Whatever you were going to type, type the opposite instead.

Well, we get the same sort of trolls time after time.

Dude, it’s a Pit thread about trolls. It exists for the very purpose of letting posters vent about other posters whose behavior they consider trollish.

If a lot of people in this thread are dissing and “bull rushing” you, what that means is that your behavior on these boards comes across as trollish to a lot of people.

In the many posts that this thread has accumulated in the eighteen months or so it’s been active, there have been plenty of instances where one or two posters grumble about what they consider trollish behavior on the part of another poster, but it gets pushback and/or fizzles out because most posters don’t agree with them. (See, for example, complaints about GC in a couple of posts starting Sep 17, '21 2:57 PM (post numbers are opgefockt in this thread, apparently).)

If you’re getting hated on in this thread with a degree of unanimity that makes you start whining about a “posse” or “hivemind” etc., it’s because a whole lot of posters have independently come to the conclusion that you’re a trolling asshole. Dopers in general have no qualms whatsoever about disagreeing with one another when they genuinely don’t see eye to eye on accusations of trollishness.

Case in point: the entity you and so many others are engaging with in this thread has been on my ignore list for some time now.

Would somebody please kick the ddog over to the Argument Clinic?

kthxbye

I suspect if you took the time to understand those “reasons” the behavior of the folks in this thread would make more sense. This board is full of people who disagree and share their differing opinions in a reasonable, rational way. They don’t end up being talked about in this thread. It’s a specific sort of person who behaves in a specific sort of way that ends up as a topic here, and like crowmanyclouds said they often get shown the door.

You know, in the old days it was good netiquette to lurk for a while before you start posting, so that you figure out the vibe. This message board has been here for decades. It’s more like a local bar than a public debate hall. Go stomp into the nearest watering hole and start yelling about how stupid and fucked up everything is and see what kind of welcome you get.

For what it is worth, Ssounder has left the board on their own accord. Don’t expect any more responses.

oh no

So, Ssounder became Ol’ Yeller?

How does one do that? Not that I plan on it.

If a pittee falls out of the forest, and there’s nobody around to here it, does it make a ssounder?

The cold wind was the ghost of Ssounder all along! WoooOOooOOOooooOOooOO!

flickers flashlight

So, flouncing before they accumulate the track record to be banned?

“You can’t fire me, I quit!”

SSounder hadn’t previously been of any note to me before they jumped in this thread with their grievances, and I’m not going to go back and read through the rest of their poster history. IMHO, they seemed to be angry and frustrated and looking for a fight, or an excuse to leave, and this may well have been the right combination of time, place and opportunity.

The fact that they came in to pick a fight, and throw snark at a-mod-not-to-be-named while hugging their own preconceptions close sure seems like a low level flounce/flame out, and their leaving the board seems like the best short term solution to all.

Maybe they’ll reconsider and come back and be willing to argue rather than pronounce judgement from on high, but they’ll have to live this behavior down.

He made a request, we couldn’t comply and he said goodbye.

Is it flouncing if the quietly go away? Cut them a little slack. You only know as I shared.

I suppose they get credit for avoiding the cringe worthy departing rant.

The culture here isn’t particularly challenging to adapt to, so I’m not inclined to cut much slack for any form of “failure to adapt”, as little as my opinion matters.

I wish more posters would quietly leave instead of flaming out. Better for everyone’s blood pressure.

And if they want to come back, that’s fine too, assuming they can stay within the rules.

I had a disagreement with what Ssounder was saying, but I didn’t think of them as a troll and appreciate if they just left and didn’t go berserk.
