Nah, he’d been posting in other threads for a week. He just clearly got a serious bug up his ass about seeing any advice in your thread other than “stop drinking,” and seemed to think that people were telling you “you can control your cirrhosis by eating fruit and vegetables.”

That should do it. He was banned for trolling. I’m glad someone else handled that it. I seem to be coming down with something and am happy not to have to figure the mess out this morning.

WTF is up with Gatopescado? They bumped a bunch of pit threads tonight, and looking at their activity it seems they’ve been making a bunch of low-content posts for days now.

I don’t know if you’re serious, but a flurry of uncharacteristic and unconstructive posts does usually mean something going on IRL.
I’m dead serious, he doesn’t exactly keep it a secret that he likes to drink, a lot. It’s rather sad, really.
My first though when I noticed it was that he was hacked. Drinking would be worse.
I drink a good bit. I’m happy about it. When I post crazy stuff it’s usually the combination of cannabis & ethanol.
I know that you also like to drink, just like Gatopescado you’ve never been shy about mentioning it. But unlike him, I never had the impression that you’re posting when you’re totally wasted, you always stay comprehensible. And I don’t want to judge, I’ve done my fair share of drunk (rather tipsy) or stoned posting here too.
And I’ve now seen all the Pit resurrections. Interesting.
I noticed that the Pit was unusually busy, but I didn’t open many of the threads. So he was solely responsible for all those resurrected threads?
Yeah, he dug up some oldies.
The posting flurry is extreme even for him, but I challenge you to find any post from him that isn’t low content.
They happen occasionally, but they’re the exception and not the rule.
He has been asked (by me) to cut back greatly in P&E and GD of these type of posts and he has. I give him credit for that.
That’s why I have him on ignore. I’m not missing anything, and it helps me avoid noise and the occasional obnoxiousness, such as this post from November, 2016 that I quote in its entirety, with an intentionally broken link for reference. If I had to take a wild guess about what motivated that unexplained quip, I’d say that from what little is known of his character that chip on his shoulder is from having been denied entry to Canada at some point, likely because of a DUI record.
I’ve put a small number of posters on ignore over time, but they’ve all eventually been banned. He’s currently the only active poster I have on ignore – quite the honour!
As for drinking too much, I’m with @kayaker – ethanol in all its forms is a fine substance, but there’s no need to get wasted. One just wants to be pleasantly mellow.
