Not a vote, but I agree with this sidewise glance. I would not vote for that myself (bad ideas do not necessarily indicate scum), but it would be a fine Day 1 vote. SP must play by phone, because I always have to remember to correct “lunching” too!
Fine Day 1 vote.
Hooker gives me a slight town lean for this post, because it feels like it came from a genuine point of feel. Just a gut feel on that.
Ehhhhhh, not feeling this one. It’s a gut feeling vote, I guess, but it’s totally divorced from anything anybody else could follow unless they’ve got the same gut feeling. This doesn’t feel like a scum Day 1 vote though, so I’m aight with it.
Already commented on this one. Zero chance outside of luck to catch scum, with perhaps a touch of “over-explaining” an already weak vote. Slight scum lean for this one, on further reflection.
This feels like an acceptable Day 1 lynch if you had stuck with the lynch the quiet/loud aspect, but I think you’re overselling it in this post. No lean for this, or maybe just the tiniest scum lean, just not on-board with your specific rationale for voting.
Incidentally, I missed Suburban Plankton’s vote for Dante G in post 41, because my brain said “haha, that’s the moderator, nice joke SP!” Dante is a player now, brain!
Time for my gut feel vote to make the lynch runner-up a 5-way tie:
Vote Dead Cat
Of our no-voters, s/he’s been mixing it up the most, with not much to show for it. A few mentioned suspicions, but not enough to vote for any of them, and a few comments on the game state. That’s more or less a wash this early in the game, but this comment makes my scumdar tingle a touch:
It’s factual - yes, the guardian will indeed protect Dead Cat if the guardian both exists and thinks Dead Cat is worth saving, but it doesn’t actually make any sense in the context of the conversation. It’s in response to someone talking about a lack of day participation during the weekend. It’s not even necessarily wrong, but it just doesn’t seem right to me, and that’s enough to earn an early Day 1 vote.
I’m not sure I have a runner-up. I like IRConfused’s vote the least, but I’m unlikely to vote for it in an absence of other reasons.
My vote really isn’t for the loud/lurker thing, that’s a valid discussion, the Prof is pushing it pretty hard though.
In this post ;
he is essentially calling Tomba confirmed town. Unless the Prof is a wolf , he cannot know what side Tomba is on, so there would be no basis for calling him the “unofficial third mason”, unless the prof knows for sure that Tomba is town.
He also should not know what alignment Bio is, yet seams to show no caution in giving helpful advice. Also indicative that he is pretty certain Bio is town.
I suppose that the Prof could be a mason, if we have them, and is handing out his fellow masons identities for all to see, but I can’t see anyone making that kind of error.
I really just don’t see it the same way you do, I guess. I don’t read that as anything other than friendly chat. I certainly don’t think he’s claiming mason or anything. In our previous game, WF Tomba nailed all three scum very early on in a guesswork post. That’s what Prof. Pepperwinkle seems to be referring to.
OK, Astral, why is my vote a poor vote. A few others have voted for Tomba for the same reason and yet you said nothing ill of theirs, except for to say that you would not vote for Tomba yourself.
I see you’ve already started casually laying the groundwork for a bogus case against me. First you repeatedly praise players for casting suspicion on me and voting for me, then you shoot down a theory that happens to imply that I’m Town. All without casting a vote for me yourself. Very clever. A dangerous player indeed!
I… don’t understand what you’re talking about? I’m commenting on the quality of each voter and assessing for THEIR scummyness. I’m not commenting on the actual case they’re making, but how they’re making it.
Also, what theory? I think Prof. P was making reference to the previous game, not actually floating a theory that you’re a trio of masons.
Astral RejectionI have my eye on you too, for this…
…in regards to Precambrian’s painful cheesery. Plus your own cheeseries previous. Wolfies like the taste of cheese, if they are anything like my chihuahua…
Being a n00b, I’m pretty sure I might be wrong. But what I’ve read on mafiascum, I think this smells like an attempt to breadcrumb. Dead Cat IS said guardian…
Also being a n00b, Should I have not pointed this out? Did I just doom our guardian?
I’ll just say that my comment about a possible guardian was not meant to be in context as such, it was just a general comment about how I feel. Nor was it meant to be “breadcrumbing” - first I’d heard of the term.
Anyway, while I am generally in favour of “lynch the lurker” as a valid opening tactic (for the reasons already stated by me and others), I feel at this point we have a real opportunity to catch a wolf cold (as it were).
VOTE Prof. Pepperwinkle
Prof., if I’m wrong I’m really sorry but I’m having a hard time thinking of anything you can say now that will change my mind.
Oh, and Astral Rejection, that seems like a pretty weak reason for voting for me, so you’re under my suspicion now as well. Isn’t this climate of fear fun?
