So, is there some reason why Eric didn’t handcuff Russel to a pole or a dumpster or something? I assume it’s going to turn out that even with the 5 minute headstart Eric will still out live the ancient Russel, but it’s a pretty big risk. Is Eric really willing to die for Sookie? Is he willing to die for for his (long since dead) family as vengeance? Is he willing to die for the greater good of the vampire community? Confused? You won’t be, these questions might be answered on the next episode of [del]Soap[/del] True Blood.
Older vamps are more vulnerable to sunlight. Eric may be able to survive it while Russell dies a true death. Sookie may be able to give him a new squirt of blood too.
What the hell kind of name is Sookie anyway?
Count me as someone who doesn’t get why they had to have Russell chained to Eric. I know he’s really strong and could probably pull a post or something loose even in a weakened state, but then he should also be able to drag Eric along behind him as well, I’d think.
When Godric died he said that at his age he’d go fast, so hopefully Russell will go even faster. I’d have liked to see them chain him down (with the help of a few humans who could stand there and make sure he died - maybe Jason and Tara) and sit Talbot’s crystal decanter of goo next to him so they could go together.
I liked that Eric’s ringtone was “Ain’t We Got Fun” when Pam called
When Sam and Tara were gettin’ it on the camera pulled back and there was some kind of device with three green buttons on it sitting on a table. What was that?
In the next scene we see Tommy cutting wires below a safe. Would it be something in connection to an alarm?
I assume Eric handcuffed himself to Russell because if he handcuffed him to a pole or a fence or whatever Russell would just pull through. He had just picked up Sookie’s car with no problem after all- he’s got strength. Eric can match some of that.
I’m afraid Sam’s attitude might be detrimental to his gross profits and the cornerstone of a bad business model. Of course he’s lucky in that evidently it’s the only bar and grill in town. I was glad Little Bro didn’t do a tearful “I can’t read!” moment when he threw down the order booklet (though I’m sure that’s why it was an issue).
So do you think LaFayette was hallucinating when he saw Jesus’s head turn into a Chinese New Year parade dragon or was he seeing something that reflects Jesus is very bad news?
Oh also… I thought it was really touching when Pam started crying while watching Eric in the sun. Also, as much as I want Russell to die (I like him but he would kill mah Eric so he must die) I loved how thrilled he was at the thought of being outside. It was sad but sweet
In the “previously on True Blood” montage at the beginning they showed Sam noticing that same device with it’s lights turning red, he ran down stairs and say a bird of some sort at the safe trying to open it. It’s obviously some McGyvered-up silent alarm system for Sam’s illegal stash of cash and possibly other shady stuff. I don’t exactly recall the scene from last weeks episode but presumably it was in it. They didn’t reveal that it was Tommy necessarily doing the stealing the first time, but presumably him doing it this time confirms it.
I was also confused about the handcuffs. My first thought was he could have just pulled a poll or something out of the ground and get to cover, but if that were the case why couldn’t he break some flimsy metal handcuffs? I think this was just a minor plot hole, they could have done better. Perhaps they will explain it during the next episode when Bill (presumably) explains Eric’s plan to Sookie.
Also after seeing the (solo) scene with Lafayette, it makes me think some sort of voodoo was involved. Someone in a previous episode’s thread speculated about Jesus being into voodoo. I didn’t get an evil vibe from Jesus, but it seems that is the direction they are headed. That flash of Jesus with the mask on scared the crap out of me.
Seems pretty obvious to me that he’s into voodoo. It never even occurred to me he may not be from the moment that ‘Mary’ shrine he’s got going on. That screams Voodoo, rather than Christianity, and certainly not simple decor.
That little bit with the writers after the show? They seemed quite defensive about fairies showing up on this show, as if they’re afraid people are laughing at the idea, and picturing Tinkerbelles with gossamer wings and magic wands floating around. This is NOT necessarily so, faeries can be quite as badass as any other supernatural creature. I think the faeries would have been left out of the show by the writers completely, but they are of importance in the books and have to be included in the show.
Letting Sookie die would hurt Eric (she’s been mad at him for the past two episodes) while still doing what she was told. Besides, if she let’s Bill feed Sookie and he takes off, she’s screwed.
If she was smart she’d either bring Sookie to bill or feed Sookie herself.
Perhaps there’s more going on then we realize. But I suspect if Sookie dies it will be Pam’s way of getting back at Eric.
I’m hoping they don’t try to pull a Taltos plotline. (For those who’ve had the pleasure of not reading Anne Rice’s Mayfair books, the Taltos are a race that look like humans but go from newborn to adult and horny in a manner of hours.) To the best of my knowledge Rene wasn’t a supe but just an effed-up dude who didn’t like fangbangers.
Arlene’s ethical problems with abortion but willingness to let a witch give her a miscarriage potion would seem illogical and unbelievable except I’ve known many people who could easily make that leap without seeing any inconsistency.
I’d bet that’s common for a lot of people. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are pro-lifers out there who wouldn’t dare abort a child they didn’t want (let’s say they were a rape victim), but would have much less of a problem taking a pill to force a miscarriage. Let’s also assume the baby is past the first trimester, so well beyond using something like RU-486 or Plan B.
