I got the impression that she panicked and thought “what the hell? I’ll try it.” but wasn’t sure it would work.
I thought she was just trying to give him blood for regular healing purposes, not for “turn him into a vamp” purposes, but I guess it wasn’t really all that clear.
That’s what I thought it was, but he was too far gone or she’s not doing it right or whatever. Plus with vampire’s heightened senses she’s probably distracted by the smell of that “dead possum” under the house.
I also thought it took a couple of days to take affect - how long did it take for Jessica to be reborn?
That’s not exactly true. An early scene in the first book is the one when Sookie rescues Bill from the Rattrays, who drain him just like in the pilot of the show. They were definitely selling vampire blood, as evidenced by what Sookie heard them thinking about.
I think Chrissy was talking about the vampires selling V.
You’re right about that but that is the only time it is every talked about in the books. It is definitely not part of the storyline in later books.
Because, the vampires are trying to assimilate into society. People will start asking questions when they start losing their money.
How will they know?
I’m not sure exactly. Lack of documentation maybe? No witnesses.
All the “supes” in the book are extremely cautious.
No, how will the glamoured humans know that they’ve been fleeced? They won’t remember, because, you know, glamoured.
Right, but how intricate of a glamor story can you weave? Wouldn’t the human eventually notice something isn’t right?
Vampires in the Sookieverse are insanely overpowered- they can move so fast they’re invisible and can rip your throat out before you even realize it. Heck, they can even fly, can’t they? Add in their healing abilities, and their ability to control minds, and I don’t see how they’ve got anything to fear from werewolves.
I’m very curious as to how the show is going to make werewolves much of a challenge. That’s the problem with making vampires basically supervillains.
Alright y’all, this is starting to sound like one of those threads about The Office where people nitpick all the ways that Michael would get fired.
How long do the vampires you know thrust? 6 hrs is unlikely for a human, but there’s no real world baseline to compare a vampire’s sexual prowess with.
Vampires can’t fly (I think Eric is the only one in the book that can fly). They’re still considerably stronger than the werewolves. Werewolves travel in packs though.
5 hours, max.
(I was actually thinking of things like the tolerances of the human involved, the boredom factor, the necessity to take care of other obligations during non-negotiable, limited wakeful hours, etc.)
fanwanks…
-
drinking it fresh might have different effects
-
using it for healing injuries may use it up for that purpose leaving nothing left for euphoria
-
non humans drinking it (shapeshifter Sam, special Sookie) may not have same effects
-
Sookie drinking from Eric no doubt did not swallow
I think after two hours the friction would probably warm it up.
But she got the sexy Eric dreams, and she didn’t ingest as much Eric blood as Jason and Lizzy Caplan did that vampire they tied up in their basement. I guess that means Jason was having sexy dreams about the stapler guy from Office Space?
It’s certainly possible that the donor can influence how his blood affects the recipient. And if he had the capability of making Sookie dream sexy dreams of him, we know he would do it in a hot second.
