Trump loves to brag about his health. (Remember that letter from his “doctor” in 2016, claiming he was the healthiest person in history to ever run for president?) I’m sure in his mind getting ill is tantamount to weakness. I’m sure he is really infected but will continue to tweet positive, blustery updates about how he’s kicking the virus’ ass as long as he’s physically capable of holding his phone.
Of course, it’s possible.
At this point I’m not even going to say “I hope it causes him to lose the election.” I DO hope he loses the election, but this has nothing to do with it. Whatever the outcome of the election, assuming that Trump survives, we’re going to have several more months of him in office, and if he can do SOMETHING MORE than what his administration has been doing so far, to mitigate this virus, and if him getting it himself is what it takes for that to happen - well, I’m just saying, that’s my desired outcome, for him to spend the remainder of his time in office (whether it’s months or years) taking the damn virus seriously and bringing the full resources of the government and its attendant propaganda machine to bear effectively.
It’s not going to make up for his massive shortcomings in addressing it up until now. But it would still be better than him taking nothing away from the experience.
What if this is kabuki and Trump’s WWF October surprise? Hope Hicks doesn’t really have covid and neither does trumpy. Just an act to come out in a week or two to say “I recovered, wasn’t as bad as the flu, nothing to see here folks, covid is all fake news”.
I won’t believe it unless Dr. Fauci administers the tests, or trump gets really sick.
It’s possible. I don’t think it’s an outlandish conspiracy theory. It would be a legitimate, if dirty, political maneuver.

Considering how much Loser Donald considers illness a sign of weakness and his refusal to admit anything negative about himself, I can’t imagine his ego allowing him to lie about being sick even it would be advantageous to him. (Remember him describing his previous test results as “positively towards the negative”?)
The only reason he’d be willing to admit it is because he must think it would be impossible to hide it and/or knows that others in his inner circle are going to test positive as well.

It’s a very tough call. There’s really no playbook for this scenario, and I’m not sure what Biden could actually do to benefit from it.

I hope you guys realize that there is a realistic chance that Trump, Pence, Biden, Harris, Pelosi and Grassley are all on ventilators come Election day, they are ALL super high risk (including Harris who is diabetic).?
