Trump asks for a Van Gogh, is offered golden toilet instead.

So apparently back in September the White House asked to borrow a Van Gogh painting from the Guggenheim Museum; instead the Chief Curator offered up a fully function, 18-karat golden toilet instead. No word on how exactly the White House responded, thought I’m fairly certain they turned it down.

Of course it was turned down. 18 carat? Only 26 carat or more for his Mighty Tushness.

The golden toilet is named “America”. I can’t see how Trump could turn it down.

Why not the jewel encrusted Faberge toilet?

I am flush with potential commentary, but: Crap! The rule against political jabs in breaking news threads means I’ll just have to remain, er … constipated.

If it is not Japanese (music, heated seat, bidet, odour masking) it’s just not worth it for a golden standard crapper.

President Shithole was offered the most appropriate piece of art.

“You’ll float too, Donald”.

I want to know how much that seat weighs.

Hopefully, more than he can lift.

This was my fear about him getting his tiny hands on the van Gogh.

I’m really curious if he/they even understand just how badly the Guggenheim Museum was trolling him/them?

CMC fnord!

You know, if Trump were asking so he could show it off to school children or something, that would be one thing. But to ask so you can use it for your own private quarters? Yeah, you can fuck right off.

Can a bureaucratic exchange be considered Art?

“Give POTUS a Van Gogh.”
“We recommend the gold toilet. It captured the Trumpworld ethos better.”

Pretty much sums up Reality right now. Knowing he’s sending his tweets on top of that throne would make it all the more blackly humorous.

Could they not have just got a print from the gift shop and put it in a nice frame for him? Like he would be able to tell the difference anyway!

I’m willing to bet he was planning on not giving it back.
“Sorry, it got…lost”.

Press Conference: “The good people at Google love me so much they gave me this original Van Morrison painting. It’s great isn’t it? I am so honored to have such a great painting from such a great American artist!”

Well, we know who’s not getting any federal arts grants at least from now to Fiscal 2022, don’t we?

Myself, I’d just have declined or conditioned the loan to it being in a viewable place of display and not in private quarters. But the curator is obviously out of f***s to give. And when you have a gold toilet called “America” in the collection, the temptation is truly great…
Now watch the guy say it never happened and nobody ever asked for the painting and the museum never offered the potty.

Donald Trump - The new American Standard.

He thinks he owns a Renoir.

LOL! I was thinking this too !!
