Trump bans Eagles from Super Bowl invite to White house

And where, apparently, a lot of the attendees were White House and Congressional interns.

Out of morbid curiosity I checked the Fox News website earlier, and damn if I could find a single mention of this whole incident anywhere on their main page. The screaming-banner top story was about “Melania derangement syndrome,” and other major articles included “April Ryan had to retract something” and "Lester Holt’s ratings are down.

You know— major, important news that impacts us all!

Yeah, but people voted for Trump because they were tired of business as usual.

Yeah, saw a couple minutes of Tucker Carlson, lead off was the liberal media’s stampeding obsession with Melaniagate. Blink, blink, WTF?

But they’d probably all like to go to the circus and see the clown.

His actions are that of a 12-year old adolescent in an adult male body. He has demonstrated this kind of behavior time and time again.

I love George Takei. His latest tweet:

From a comment attached to the Washington Post op-ed about the incident (“With no Eagles around, Trump acts like a turkey”):

(The commenter added a subsequent comment granting blanket permission to quote.)

“Oh yeah? Well I’m gonna have my own Super Bowl celebration, with Marine bands, and hookers! In fact, forget about the Super Bowl!”

Because these days, in all too many people’s minds, “Patriotism” consists of a jingoistic, parroted response, rather than the thoughtful, informed respect for the flag and the republic for which it stands that it should be.

In this case, Trump declares kneeling players to be unpatriotic and the parrots repeat it. I would consider the players who knelt to be in the thoughtful, informed respect camp.

In other news, it appears that Nick Foles was the only player who was confirmed to be planning on attending. Wouldn’t that have been a great sight?

For comparison, this is what happened when Tom Brady decided not to visit last year.

Also,

When you look like shit, blame the mirror.

Let’s not stoop to insulting twelve-year-old adolescents!
