I think **BobLibDem’s **comment while correct isn’t the whole story. There are also Trump supporters who are basically decent people but who have been left behind by major economic changes. They are sufficiently desperate to support anyone who purports to want to make changes, and purports to listen to what they are saying, understand how they are feeling, and have the solutions.
I suspect these will be the type of people who are starting to leave Trump, as they either can’t stomach his bigotry, or are realising he has no solutions.
I agree, I don’t think those are part of the 27% that will vote for him no matter what.
I still think Hillary will win, but I’m afraid the current crazification factor is reaching just under 40%.
I expect really ugly things on election day, with all those people goaded by Trump into looking for fraud, by harassing minorities when they get close to the ballot box. Thank goodness I’m voting early.

I can’t see undecideds swinging his way as his ludicrous act is abandoned by a growing stream of GOPers, and the press finally beginning to get serious with him and his spokespeople. When the sharks smell blood in the water, there will likely be a feeding frenzy and I think a lot of his non-hardcore support will fall away as he’s seen as the LOSER he really is.
I don’t doubt election day ugliness by his supporters, but I also don’t anticipate him having the support the GOPers had in 2000 for their criminal tampering. Trump is about the only nominee that can make W look presidential by comparison.
I may be wrong, but I expect it not to be close, and heavy damage to the Republican Party.
