Back when the news hit about how the founders of We Build the Wall had paid themselves more money that went to – you know – actually construct something I commented on how money seemed to stick to the organizers’ fingers more in Republican-run charities than is usual.
This is a dog-bites-man story and I’d be doing myself, if I could keep a straight face and had no conscience.
I’ve long thought that the idea that Biden is limiting his campaign events is in part because, if you are as far ahead as he is and has been for quite a while, why bother? Anyone can make a gaffe, however unintentional, so why give the other side ammo? I am NOT saying that I ever bought the whole “Biden is hiding in his basement” story, as he has made plenty of speeches, etc. But I think my first comment has some merit, and in the end is smart “campaigning”.
Do you give any weight to the idea that plenty of Democrats don’t hate Trump, but just think he is an awful person, and an even worse president? Because I dare say I am as liberal as any Doper here, and I don’t hate Trump. He is beneath my hate. I have utter contempt for him, but that is another thing entirely.
Luckily for you, it’s choose your own adjective day. Hatred, contempt, whatever. The point is, the left is more anti-Trump than they are pro-Biden. And that’s okay. If I were voting down there, I’d definitely be picking between the lessor of two shit-shows, and wouldn’t be particularly happy about my candidate no matter if it was Trump or Biden.
He’s stupid. He’s arrogant. He’s corrupt. He’s an active criminal, right now. He’s enacted inhumanly evil policies. He’s enacted many policies that hurt the US. He has betrayed our allies, and comforted our opponents. He’s crass and classless. He’s embarrassing. He’s lazy.
And he personally, no one else or Earth, is responsible for the unnecessary deaths of more than 100k Americans by his inept and delusional approach to COVID.
Only going by people I know, it’s because he’s causing actual harm to people. But I’m sure if you ask enough people, you’ll get dozens of different answers. I’ve never heard anyone say they “hate” him because he’s an outsider. Doesn’t even make much sense.
Also, he has literally left his supporters in the cold. Twice, I think. Post event buses didn’t show up or something. A little on-the-nose, if you ask me.
