Trump has had a lifetime of telling really obvious lies that don’t rise to the level of verbal deception or gameplay.
Trump has not lived a normal life. Most people who choose to tell lies face the consequences for lying. Hence they either stop telling lies or they learn to lie really well so they don’t get caught.
Trump has never had to face any consequences for his misdeeds, including his lies. And he’s lazy so he’s never made any effort he didn’t have to. So he’s still telling lies the way a five year old would. But the people he surrounds himself with all nod their head and pretend to believe him so he thinks he has cleverly outsmarted everyone.

Maybe this is for another thread, but what really would breaching the capitols do? The Jan 6 rioters caused a major disruption that day but it’s not like taking over that building would have granted them power over the government. It’s just idiots acting out, right? If Kamala is elected she will be in control of the government and the military. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’d guess that real, effective coups require forethought, planning and backing. Trump being pissed and telling his minions to run down and kick the doors in of your local capitol building wouldn’t really accomplish a lot, would it? at least in terms of a transfer of power.
Which is why I’m more concerned about possible rebellions from within the capitols: that is, some states refusing to certify election results.
Another interpretation could be, “You won’t have to vote for me again after that because I’m limited to two terms,” but that would assume Trump knows something about the Constitution.

The rioters were doing the bidding of people who had planned that dt would stay in office. They wanted to prevent the counting of the delegates. The rioters were not the whole plan but they were an important part of it.
Yup, and that could have sent it to the House. They would have elected Trump.

I noticed a few Former Trump Attorney attributes hired or paid by CNN to head-talk after the assassination attempt.
I immediately discounted everything they said. If you’re dumb enough to work for that idiot, what does that say about you?
100 percent. They are either complete imbecilic tools, or somehow convince themselves that extremely high visibility crimes will be overlooked, because reasons.
Of course, SCOTUS is trying to make that true. At least for Trump. Bribery too. So he may not need to grift as much. But he’s good at that, and I think he enjoys fleecing people.
Trump has previously claimed that he’s entitled to a third term because of how “unfair” Democrats were to him during the first one.
He isn’t saying they won’t have to vote for him.
He is saying they won’t have to vote, period.
I’m not sure it’s cleverness. He just says no and the people in authority to do something about are either consolidated behind him or spineless.
Why that man is not in jail is one of the big mysteries to my mind.
I don’t understand all the anxiety over the possibility of MAGAts taking to the streets with their guns if Trump loses the election. We have multi-death mass shootings fairly frequently, and nobody really gives enough of a shit to do much about it. Why would MAGAt shootings be any worse?
Historically, the IQs of the shooters have been higher than the caliber of the weapon used.
In that very narrow sense, it would pretty much be unprecedented.
I hope there are a thousand of them, surrounding the Capitol and with automatic weapons. And unfraid to use them if there is an attack.
I say that not with any bloodthirsty motives. It’s because that’s how you prevent a coup.
