Trump is dying

Do you think it just changes to “yes” when he dies, or is there also going to be confetti?

ETA:

Probably for the confetti

There’s a menu which requires code and a lot of formatting for the page (different fonts, probably CSS to center things properly, etc.). There may be redundant code to ensure compatibility for different browsers and devices as well (to make the site “adaptive”).

I’ve done a good amount of web design professionally for decades and it can take a lot of code to make a simple, clean page. Many websites are like a duck on the water; little happening on the surface but a lot of paddling going on out of sight.

Given its origin, it seems quite possible it was designed by some unpaid guy using AI “vibe coding”. Basically the opposite of “professional”.

Even AI could put in that stuff, it’s pretty standard on a modern site.

“Mad” and “senile” may not be precise medical terms, but pick your own symptoms. Even his most fervent supporters can no longer hide their disquiet at his impulsivity, malignant narcissism and erratic volatility. All but the wilfully blind recoil from the deranged stream of consciousness that spews from his social media accounts at all times of day and night.

We can no longer ignore his conspiracy-obsessed mindset and his lack of control. We can see for ourselves his increasing detachment from reality along with his increasingly frequent delusional claims. We flinch at his emotional volatility, his disregard for democratic norms. We shudder at his disinhibition, blustering menace, vengeful rantings and foul-mouthed posturing.

None of it is normal, yet it is remarkable how so many people have gone on behaving as though it were. The more craven keep their heads down and pretend not to notice. Some feel personally or ideologically obliged to make excuses for him. But, for the rest of us, it is beyond time to speak bluntly about what we see.

The guy is nuts.

Well, then, no wonder it never seemed to work for the horses I saw treated with it. Whoda thunk it?

It’s like the old saying goes: you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him think…

You can lead a horticulture but you can’t make her think.

The “we” that author is referring to does not seem to include a lot of MAGAs who think those are among his best features.

I also like the “we need to talk about this” framing (as though most of us weren’t already keenly aware) while also implying there is fuck all we can do about it except wait. And hope.

My impression was that the we was talking about was the media.

This came up on my feed, though I was fairly unimpressed, that just looks like an old fat man sitting down, not a symptom of imminent demise IMO

Though I do wonder if it’s expected of all guest of his golf club that they should clap whenever he comes into the room? Not tinpot dictator-y at all :frowning:

Exactly. And he appeared cheerful enough when conversing with the others at his table.

I certainly didn’t see ‘battered and exhausted’, no matter how hard I tried.

TBH this is more telling of Trump’s decline than that chair video….

“Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy,”

The POTUS has no fucking who the Pope is, at all. Like, he’s the Pope not the governor of Illinois. Trump has always been spectacularly ignorant and willfully uninformed, but I am pretty sure 2006 Trump had some idea who the Pope was

Forget it, The Mirror is like the kind you see at a funhouse, distorting everything.

Sounds like Trump is the one who needs to be carried around in a chair…

Showing respect in such ways for the office of the Presidency is fairly standard and has been going on for a long time. If you don’t respect the person, such signs of respect will be tepid and perfunctory, but should still be in evidence.

The difference between 2006 & now is trump don’t care. He is now free to criticize everyone on Earth because he is the Alpha Human. In his “mind” at least, and that’s the only mind he pays any attention to.

I do not see any evidence of senility, as opposed to just wacky degrees of stupid entitlement, in trump’s comments.

I don’t mean to sanewash his deep-seated insanity. But dementia is a different sort of phenomenon.

Though clapping when he walks in the room is not.

I certainly see your point.

it is difficult to show respect to a president who himself has no respect for the office of the presidency. Or anything else.
