I never said that.
Nothing personal. I just want to see Trump pushing a ball of shit uphill over and over again.
That was just so much hopeful pleading, as was the notion that there were plotters in the Kremlin who were going to off him, flip a coin to see who succeeds him, and then unilaterally pull the Russian Army out of Ukraine, declare Russia to be a global partner in Peace, Love, and Understanding, and unfurl Russia’s long-lost draft of the Constitution of the Russian Federation which would assure strong democratic institutions and eliminate corruption. In reality, anybody who even looks askance at Putin will find themselves suddenly falling out of a window, and while Putin isn’t going to live forever he’s going to cling onto life harder than he clutches the end of his comically long desk.
Stranger
Some good jokes in here, you all are terrible people.
My best friend and I made a pact earlier this week to call each other at any hour of the day should one of us hear the news we have long awaited.
And I’m wif Stranger; Vance is gonna keep the military on the streets and make a run at grabbing power without the need of a pesky election. The power players are all in at this point in time; they’ll never have this chance of success again in the future.
You had me at “violently.”
Yes. Fragile skin that bruises easily, mild dementia, retaining water, being wobbly, those are all fairly common with old age and rarely foretell an immediate demise. I’m hopeful, but not optimistic.
I forgot to mention Trump’s recent comments about getting into Heaven. Why the concern about the afterlife if he’s not keenly aware that he’s going there soon? Then again, knowing Trump he could be trolling.
Yesterday I read an article wherein a psychologist said that it looks to him as if Trump has frontotemporal dementia. (I can’t find it now.) The psychologist pointed to the video of Trump walking on the red carpet at his Alaska meeting, saying that Trump is exhibiting a symptom of the disease. Something about Trump moving his right leg in a circular gait, causing him to veer left. Trump over-corrects, and goes to the right edge of the carpet. I’ve only seen the sped-up video of Trump taking the up whole width of the carpet, and I couldn’t see what the psychologist was seeing.
Anyway, I looked up frontotemporal dementia. According to the AI result, ‘Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) itself isn’t directly fatal, but it shortens lifespan, with average survival from symptom onset ranging from 6 to 13 years, though this varies considerably.’
Let’s suppose that FTD is what makes Trump so loony. How many years ago did it start presenting? During his first presidency? After he lost the 2020 election?
I mean, if we’re dreaming and all…
Vance becomes president, and immediate ships Miller and everyone in that group off for “extreme rendition”, trashes P2025 and returns the country to our normal GOP pigheaded corrupt obstructionism. He eventually gets listed among the best president simply for saving us from trump-MAGAism.
A guy can dream.
Also, just to be clear, we are all talking about after his death. This isn’t political violence. When, you’re dead you’re dead. That’s it. It’s not like he’s going to suddenly pop up out of the coffin and point a tiny finger at you if you throw a subway sandwich at his hearse when it trundles on by. Dead is dead.
What would he say, anyway?
"Fee ! Fie ! Foe ! Fum…!
I smell someone who’s bathed
( And isn’t MAGA-Scum…! ) ”
Given the complete inability of any justice during Biden’s administration, nothing at all will happen during Trump’s or for several years into the following administration assuming it isn’t a GOP one. Too much future fascist damage remains to be done.
Mother Nature is the ultimate arbiter of justice, and I hope for as soon as possible.
I disagree. Well, actually, I agree it’s a great image, and that the vultures/Skeksis circling, unable to wait for their chance at power is apt, but the Skeksis Emperor was actually powerful, intelligent, and wise to a degree, and his failings are in large part due to a near unavoidable nature (I mean, he is the Ambitious/Evil half of a greater being!).
Trump, well, Trump has none of the prior grandeur or brilliance, and zero actual accomplishments. If he was on his deathbed, no one would have fear or reverence for even half a second.
Minor digression, may Trump have the painful decline and eventual death or irrelevance (probably worse than death for him) that he so justly deserves.

So what, everything happily goes back to normal, the curse is broken?
No, if I’d meant that, I’d have said that. I meant that things can’t return to sanity until his presidency is decisively ended with absolutely no chance of being restored (phrasing it this way to avoid expressing a wish of death on someone). Sooner the better.

A slow Trump descent … has much better chance of weakening post-Trump MAGA than a quick and easy death that gives him martyrdom, that he was just on the verge of making everything all better when he was tragically killed
Of course the form of his demise matters. If he gets assassinated by an illegal immigrant, then absolutely all bets are off. But I don’t think we can confidently say that MAGA would be weakened by a prolonged incapacitation than him abruptly dropping dead from a heart attack.
And that is because, I would argue, that at this moment, Trump is already too incapacitated to execute the office, and his entire administration knows it. They just don’t care because they’re happy to wield power running a shadow government. I would argue more forcefully that a prolonged illness would give these people license to openly and smoothly execute a transition that wouldn’t be possible if he just dropped dead one day from a cheeseburger overdose.
None of has a choice in how this story gets written, but if I get to write it, he’s in a hole by sundown today (east coast time, not west coast).
Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is common, but that doesn’t mean that the majority of old people have it. In fact, the minority do:
Trump, the second oldest president in U.S. history at 79 years old, is among an estimated 10% to 35% of adults across the country who are affected by CVI — most of which are 65 years of age or older
(Bolding mine.)
And it’s not something that develops primarily in old age. It’s simply more obvious then because it’s progressive:
Most of the time we see these symptoms — leg swelling, dark spots, or noticeable varicose veins — in older age because it’s a condition that progresses over time. The longer you are on your feet in your lifetime, and potentially, the more weight you gain as you age, and the less active you become, the more likely CVI might occur.
It’s not life-threatening. However, swollen ankles are also caused by other conditions, such as heart failure, and there’s no rule, as some of us have discovered, that says you can’t have two conditions at once.
My mother taught me that it’s wrong to wish death on anyone, but as someone who loves her country, I think this warrants an exception. Every morning as I click on the news, I say, “Please be dead. Please be dead. Please be dead.”
One thing is sure: when Trump does die, he’ll be the deadest dead guy ever. All the best people will say so.
The undertaker, with tears in his eyes, will say “sir, you are the deadest corpse I’ve ever seen. Nobody has ever been as dead as you”.
Of course, to the MAGA cult, he will rise again on the third day.
Second. He’ll have to outdo the Messiah.

wonder if Trump, like other monarchs, has planned his own funeral. The highest gold gilded catafalque, and Kennedys’ procession
Interesting question: if Trump dies soon*, who will attend the “Kennedy procession”?
I can imagine that lots of foreign heads of state will choose not to attend, and just send their ambassador or a junior politician to represent their country. Why would Canada or Greenland (well, Denmark) want to appear as honoring Trump?
Actually, now that I think of it, this could be a truly powerful tool to save America. Quietly organize a boycott of Trump’s funeral, by all the leaders in the western world. Let Foxnews show pics of Trump’s coffin accompanied only by Putin and the president of El Salvador.

*thoug, like Beck, I don’t think it’s likely. Lots of elderly folk have bruises and are unsteady on their feet, often.for a decade before they die

he at least walks (he calls it golf)
Yes, he plays a lot of golf, but my understanding is that he uses a golf cart almost exclusively, including (allegedly) having the cart driven up onto the greens, which is a very big no-no on pretty much every golf course (as it can severely damage the surface of the green). I don’t think he gets a whole lot of steps in over the course of 18 holes.

Of course, to the MAGA cult, he will rise again on the third day.
… to the fulfillment of The Grifters…

The undertaker, with tears in his eyes, will say “sir, you are the deadest corpse I’ve ever seen. Nobody has ever been as dead as you”.
‘Sir, you are not only merely dead; you’re really most sincerely dead.’
I’m hoping we get a reasonable amount of advance notice; it takes some work to fit a flagpole with a temporary double-height extension.
