Medical experts note that MRIs are not typically part of a routine physical. Doctors usually prescribe them to get detailed images of the spine, heart and vascular system, brain, knees, or other parts of the body.
You only get an MRI if there is a specific reason for it. Either he has a problem, or there is the sign that there might be a problem that they need to check for that a standard examination won’t determine.
The other unfortunate part is when people start demanding MRIs during their physicals, because that’s “standard”, and any doctor who isn’t doing them is being negligent.
Releasing an evaluation of Trump’s MRI by his personal doc who declares it “perfectly normal” 
is far different from releasing actual images for radiologists to weigh in on.
Being 80 means there’s might be a problem. And being president means your hypochondria can be humored with an MRI.
I don’t think Trump would ask for an MRI though. I’d be surprised if he even knows what one is.
I also get the impression that the reported MRI results are a deliberate lie. Yes, the MRI of his guts came out fine. That’s because the MRI was of his brain and it is not fine.
Of course he wouldn’t. They use . . . MAGNETS !

Yes, an MRI is a way to test for cognitive issues. That’s how they determined my wife’s grandmother has vascular dementia.
I can also see that not only would the true results be protected by HIPAA, but it’s also a matter of national security as the mental health of the POTUS (in all seriousness) is something that is best kept secret if there is a problem. I don’t think this has to be a huge conspiracy to cover this up, as I’m sure only a couple of people would be involved in this secret.
But I would not all be shocked to find out in a handful of years (after the fact) that medical tests being done now are showing incredible decline and are being covered up for the good of the country. (And I don’t mean that with snark; there are legitimate reasons to hide the fact, as much as I loathe the current officeholder.)
Yeah, that Putin, I hear he’s pretty tough. Puts polonium on his sandwiches and then lights a Molotov cocktail and drinks it. I’d really admire Trump if he could do the same.
Obviously we are in wild speculation land here, but on principal: One might argue that there are legitimate reasons to hide such test results from the public - temporarily. But there is no legitimate reason to hide them from the Cabinet.
His head is the only thing that would fit in a normal MRI machine. A scan of his torso is right the fuck out unless he heads to the vet clinic which is set up to scan horses.
Hell, the only way to keep his mental health a secret is to take away his phone and never let him out in public.
