Trump is dying

This has been an historical lesson I’ll take to heart…

And a nadder.

Cooperative, beatitude, and, of course, dieresis.

Coop-erative. Beat-itude. Die-resis.

I’m not seeing the problem?

Someone should redo the iconic scene in Total Recall with Trump instead of Kate Murtagh.

Wasn’t that Priscilla Allen?

Please, God, no.

I’m watching a TV show where the president dies. When the person making the announcement to the nation stepped to the podium in the WH press room and said the words “The President is dead,” it gave me chills. I thought that was a good time to pause the show and remind my wife that if the big announcement ever comes while I’m sleeping or not home that the champagne is currently on the top shelf in the fridge behind all the yogurt.

“Coop” is pronounced with a “w” between the “o” syllables. “Co-wop.”

“Beatitude” is pronounced with a “y” between the “e” and “a”. Just as “dieresis” has a “y” between the “i” and “e”. We always do that in English, exactly as I said, whether the spelling reflects it or not.

You sure you didn’t mean to post that in the More Jokes thread?

You bring shame to your username.

Only if “be” has a “y” in it.

It’s pronounced like “be-ya”; it’s subtle but it’s there. That’s how we separate syllables between vowel sounds.

No , the first syllable is pronounced in exactly the same was as “be” - if “be” doesn’t have a “y” sound, then neither does “be-at”.

I never said it did. Read my post again.

And the word, “be” is pronounced with a little bit of a “y” at the end of it, which is more pronounced if the next slowly starts with a vowel.

We’ve had enough fertilizer!

As Og is my witness, I still wish someone would butt plug that f-cking hole.

I pronounce “Y” with a “B” sound.

I log on and see 17 new posts in the ‘Trump is dying’ thread and what do I get? I get diddlysquat, that’s what I get.

Well, if there was a Wake, I’d buy you a damn drink.
