The ruling said the name has to come down. It didn’t say anything about the tarp. I wouldn’t even be surprised if, in an act of spite, he had JFK’s named removed also.
Time for some guerilla action. Get a mob to tear down the tarp.

They’ll take it down after a court orders them to… and then after the appeals process plays out… and a few days late for… reasons.

Maybe they’re waiting to do the reveal for his birthday tomorrow.
I don’t know how exactly the letters were attached, but I assume there was some sort of base or clip screwed into the stone facade. Taking the letters down will leave the hardware, or all least holes at a minimum. I would expect some patching still has to be done.
I also have a certain amount of cynical suspicion that as long as the clips remain, the idea that they could appeal again and snap the letters back into place is in play.
In a sane world I would advise that what got the letters installed in the first place was the intentional uninvolvement of the courts or congress, and that we could count on both to do the right thing when pressed into service. In a sane world.
No, that would be a mob. When you resort to violence and destruction you give up the moral high ground.
Have t-shirts printed with “The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts” printed on them, and have people stand in front of the scaffolding wearing them. I think you could get a few volunteers for that.
If you can get enough people, just do one letter per shirt.
Tarp violence?
Tons of reports saying the name has been removed, all accompanied by pictures of workers on scaffolding supposedly about to remove said name. There is also a photo of a worker supposedly holding the letter “P”, but I will need more than that from the serial liars on the Kennedy Center board.
I’m not sure if it counts, but here’s a congresswoman saying it’s removed. I can only hope she peaked behind the tarp before making that statement.

It looks like she is standing in front of a tarp, she has been told the letterring has been removed, and she needs a photoshoot for publicity.
The tarp is good symbolism for all the things Trump is trying to hide. I’ve lost count.
So far, the only direct source of information all of the sources have is Kennedy Center Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Charles Matthew Floca, a Trump pick that is also behind the push to shut the place down (“for two years”) for repairs. By the way, his former job was in the field of construction, so I am sure that will in no possible way influence who will be rebuilding the place.
I’ve never been to D.C., is the Kennedy center unapproachable somehow? It wouldn’t seem like such an obstacle for someone to take a peek behind the curtain.
