Almost literally no other GOP pol of any significance would even talk to Trump about running with him.
Pence and Christie had no future as governors, and Gingrich little with Fox, so they saw Trump as their only way to stave off oblivion.
That’s why – and this is so funny it hurts – the Democratic minority in the Senate will vote against conviction, and keep the damned lunatic in office!

For fuck’s sake, Trump is not Hitler. At most, he’s Kaiser Wilhelm. Bombastic, egotistical, thin-skinned, with delusions of grandeur and a habit of making outrageous threats. Unlike the Kaiser, he’s not a monarch, so he doesn’t have nearly as much power, and he isn’t going to be around nearly as long.

She’s doing her damnedest to generate ‘outrage fatigue’ so when Trump inevitably does do something horrific, it’ll seem like a case of the girl who cried wolf.
