Trump Magically Turns NFL Games Into Anti-Trump Rallies

Link doesn’t work, this I assume ?

( edit: So YOU didn’t read it, now did you, Okra ? )

As would a poll that isn’t from a blatantly partisan organization. Remington Research Group is owned by Jeff Roe, a longtime GOP operative who was Ted Cruz’s “ruthless” campaign manager.

I even found some stuff that says RRG has done work for Trump since he won the nomination last year.

Okrahoma, did you think no one would check your source?

Yes. I tried twice on my iPad to paste it in, but was having difficulties. I notice your link doesn’t include quote marks. Has the style here changed?

Different poll. You didn’t read the first one did you?

No. It hasn’t. And it won’t

Obviously. This might as well be your signature. Don’t worry, we’ll never doubt that Okrahoma sees this “as a brilliant political move that will benefit Trump”, whatever “this” may be, forever and ever.

From my viewpoint, it does very much seem to be both “disrespectful idiots”and “fire da bums.” I’m not sure I’ve heard an opinion of “while I strongly oppose them not standing, they should not be fired” from the right side of the crowd. I have from the left, which is why there is that overlap of 64% say they should stand, but 61% say they should not be fired. Like I said, I probably would vote yes in both polls.

BTW - before some moderator jumps down my throat - the “Snowboarded Bo” above was a typo when I was manually putting in the quote. Not intentional.

For what it’s worth, from a tweet from Jason Kander:

“Patriotism isn’t about making everyone stand and salute the flag.
Patriotism is about making this a country where everyone wants to.”

A sentiment that is apparently beyond Okra’s ken.

I’ve said that a few times in this thread but have yet to see any acknowledgement of it.

OTOH, Okrahoma has referred to the reason for the protest as “whatever stupid reason” and Clothahump has called it a fantasy, so we have the basic problem of them not wanting to listen to or acknowledge the validity of the complaints in the first place.

I noticed a quote mark in the end, took it away, hit enter and ended seeing a Google page, this being the first. That’s all I can say.

Hmm…it looks to me like the iPad inserted a different type of quote mark (the slanted kind [“opening” and “closing quotes”] instead of the straight kind). I just upgraded to the new iOS, and they keyboard’s been switched around so I have to see how in the heck to get the normal straight quote marks it used to give me.

It’s just another flag burning blah blah blah.

The difference here is that Trump not only diverted the issue to flag/anthem, which is easy enough to do, he also said people SHOULDN’T GO TO THE GAMES or watch them on TV.

So I will repeat: going to a game or watching one on TV is an anti-Trump statement. The Trumpies themselves will define attendance as treason, and there will no doubt be a handful of videos of people burning their tickets, lol. I would like to see pickets at the games, that’s going to be wonderful.

I wonder what institution is next on his hit list. Ice cream? Finger fucking?

Yes, it was. In the ‘Wag the Dog’ sense of the phrase.

No large portion of the population will become permanently disgusted with him after this. As with most of the Trump controversies this is all one big circle jerk where those that already hate Trump are outraged. His supporters either (1) don’t care or (2) are having their own circle jerk. In this case, it’s the latter. Rich black atheletes disrespecting the flag are easy pickings.

So, NFL players who chose to genuflect (a position that commonly shows great reverence) rather than stand during the anthem in order to reflect that in many important ways black Americans are treated differently than white Americans, that we really aren’t as united in how we are treated by public servants as we should be – that’s wrong.

But when Donny John reflects the division between people who show their patriotism in one way versus those who show it in another way, that’s okay because when he does it he’s merely reflecting reality?

Disingenuous.

You’re raining on his parade. Just join in the “Trump is now doomed!” chorus. It’s a perennial hit, wrong every time, but ever popular.

Nah, what’s disingenuous is taking a single line out of context, and rather than responding to the context, instead think you can score points with a one liner.

Your russian handlers would be very disappointed. You aren’t going to get a raise this time around, bub. Quit phoning it in, and actually act like you care.

It is a complicated equation consisting of Russia, money, a plus sign and an equals sign.
