Trump Magically Turns NFL Games Into Anti-Trump Rallies

Trump tried to drag in Pat Tillman in to the NFL nonsense too…
After seeing the image of her husband going viral, under the pretext that he would’ve supported Donald Trump and/or would’ve disapproved of players deciding to kneel, Marie Tillman has had enough, publicly asking the president and others to stop using her fallen husband’s image and memory for political purposes:
On Monday night, Pat’s widow Marie Tillman made this statement.
“As a football player and soldier, Pat inspired countless Americans to unify,” Tillman wrote. “It is my hope that his memory should always remind people that we must come together. Pat’s service, along with that of every man and woman’s service, should never be politicized in a way that divides us. We are too great of a country for that. Those that serve fight for the American ideals of freedom, justice and democracy. They and their families know the cost of that fight. I know the very personal costs in a way I feel acutely every day.”
Tillman added: “The very action of self expression and the freedom to speak from one’s heart — no matter those views — is what Pat and so many other Americans have given their lives for. Even if they didn’t always agree with those views. It is my sincere hope that our leaders both understand and learn from the lessons of Pat’s life and death, and also those of so many other brave Americans.”
I guess that makes her dead husband a son of a bitch and her a bitch now??

Oh and just in case you’re wondering if I think that everything Trump does is brilliant - far from it. For example, his support of Luther Strange, as lukewarm as it was, was stupid.

He agrees with you. Amazing how quick his “loyalty” changes.

How soon before he claims he was for Moore all along?

They booed the Cowboys when they all knelt in unity before the anthem and then stood while the flag was displayed and the anthem sang. The entire thing is about uppity football players, they’re hiding behind “disrespecting the flag and soldiers”.

I didn’t join the Army to defend a flag. I joined to defend a people. I never swore an oath to stand for the national anthem - I swore it to protect the Constitution, and all the rights enshrined in it.

Woe be the first co-worker or friend I’ve heard screaming about the NFL that I see sitting during the anthem Friday night.

Great…So, Luther Strange is not bat-shit crazy enough for you. Well, that definitely raises my opinion of you. :smack:

Trump's NFL Fight Dates Back to His Failed USFL Experiment in the '80s?

Yeah, Trump has a long history of wanting his own NFL team and screwing it up.

Well, that certainly erases all the utter bullshit you’ve inflicted on us over the past year.

Hey, he likes people who win primaries.

He’s already deleted the tweets supporting Strange. I guess that wipes the minds of his fans. Tomorrow they will wake up and their man Moore is a winner!

The most effective response from the flag festooners would have been simply to ignore Colin Kaepernick in the first place. That’s all it took: No attention at all. A simple shrug. A ‘Meh, whatever.’

But that’s not good enough for conservatives because they want to control the way other people think and behave. They want to define America as a place that is culturally theirs and theirs only, and they demand that others show deference to America as culturally Euro-American and Christian.

So what has Trump won, then? Is the NFLPA running as the Democratic nominee in 2020? Is Jerry Jones?

How many people supporting him over this didn’t already vote for him?

Trump rewrites history.

Also rage. They need their daily dose of it.

Aaron Rodgers came out and said he would lock arms in solidarity with the players during the NA, and boy are the pinheads on the Packer’s Facebook page upset. O, how it disgraces the flag, the troops, the country, those that fought and died etc. Plus they says things like “spoiled millionaires”, and mention “black on black violence” and comment that AR doessn’t get along with his own family so how can he talk about unity?

It’s like they have a script they are following. Or is it really such a large percentage of folks that don’t “get” what the protests are all about?

So many say they are done watching football. Fine, sez I. Can you send me your unused tickets?

And Kaepernick wasn’t making any kind of big deal about it either. His was a private protest - no announcement, no press conference, he was just sitting during the anthem.

Now, he was happy to say why when asked, but IIRC it wasn’t until the second or third game before anyone even noticed.

[nitpick]

As far as I know, Mr. Kaepernick never sat during the anthem; he genuflected instead of standing.

[/nitpick]

He began by sitting but then changed to kneeling after talking to this guy:

Ah; thank you for fighting my ignorance.

No prob. I just came across that story the other day and found it pretty interesting. If only all those that are so very pissed off at these athletes would listen to the feelings of others the way Kaepernick did when this whole thing started…
