Trump Magically Turns NFL Games Into Anti-Trump Rallies

Um, whut ?
Are you saying that it is disrespectful only if others see it ? Like it’s no-no touching yourself when kids are present and OK when they’re not ?

The point is that the anthem IS there when you hear it. You stand because of the anthem, not because there is other people. If you stand up only when others see then you’re not only a hypocrite but also a coward.

Man, you are dense.

Confederate history, by definition and choice of the Confederates, is not the history of the United States. I, as an American, do not feel it is within the US governments authority to maintain the histories of a country that defined itself against America and waged war. Is the honoring of the Nation’s enemies even allowed under the Constitution?

If so, I demand equal time for Nazi tank commanders, Vietnamese generals, Al Qeada leaders, and notable Britons from the War of 1812 to be so honored. And if your retort is that these aren’t American groups, well, we need to honor the Americans who joined the enemy in their glorious cause.

Man, are you obvious.

Please, enlighten me. I ain’t no born English-speaker, see. Mebbe I misunderstood.

In what way?

Ask a question and I’ll probably answer.

And… the whole thing was pretty much a page 23 event, until Trump opened his pie-hole.

It’s a distraction from his many, many failures. His upcoming failure to do anything constructive about healthcare (Wonder where his secret plan to expand coverage and lower costs went?). His failure to deal with other countries (North Korea just thumbed their nose at him again). His failure to “build a wall” (even his own party knows this is idiotic). His failure to do most anything.

So what does he do? Goes off on a rant about a tiny handful of protesting black NFL players, shortly after calling Nazi marchers “good people”.

Nice distraction, Trump! “Look over there! I just stepped on my dick!”

You’ve made it clear that at this point, you simply are enjoying being an asshole. So there are no questions. You’re obvious.

Perhaps you should retreat to your safe space with your blankie until you’re ready to hold a grownup discussion.

You can argue that, but not successfully. Confederate statues are appropriate in museums as historic artifacts, but not in public squares as people that should be honored and emulated. Do I expect to see statues of Hitler in public parks in Germany? No. Would I expect to see them in German history museums? Sure. Just a couple weeks ago I was in Ford’s Theater in Washington. One exhibit was a life size statue of Booth. Perfectly appropriate in a museum. In a public park, not so much.

Again.

Ask me a question. About my thoughts on whatever XYZ. And I’ll answer. Now don’t expect pages of explanations and I sure as shit aint going to turn in particular topic into a debate…cause nobody (at least me) got time for that shit…

Go ahead.

Ask.

How can you not understand the message. I think it was made perfectly clear. The flag is a symbol of the values that the United States of America stands for, one of which happens to be that “all men are created equal” under the law. To salute that symbol is to acknowledge that that value is in fact reflected in our policies and our experiences. If an American citizen does not believe that, based upon numerous instances which appear to contradict that value, then is it not equally symbolic to protest in such a way that is supported by the very language of the Constitution in the First Amendment?

And while the freedoms for which those citizens died include free speech, it does not include freedom from the private consequences of that speech. However, when the President of the United States gets involved in calling for the abridgment of that First Amendment right, I believe it crosses the line into a violation of his duty to support the Constitution. Not that I’m surprised that Trump has no respect for the Constitution or the values of our country. What I’m saying is that the First Amendment doesn’t protect those players from being fired for not representing their teams in the manner their employers wish them to, it is very wrong for the POTUS to encourage that.

Not really. What’s disgraceful is that Trump doesn’t recognize the value of free speech and protest when it’s something he disagrees with and that he would vulgarly and shamelessly refer publicly to American citizens as sons-of-bitches because he doesn’t like their message or chosen method of protest. It’s just unbecoming and disrespectful of the dignity of the office he currently holds.

I’ll bite. I have two questions:

  1. Why are you acting like such an asshole in this thread?

  2. Do you think that your conduct in this thread is winning any converts over to your side of the argument? If no, then what is your aim here, exactly?

Not to mention how unseemly it was to drag the players’ mothers into it by calling them all bitches.

I’m just being honest.

Secondly, I’m not trying to convert anybody.

Thirdly. ASK an actual question.

But again, keep it relatively simple. I ain’t debating the ever living shit outa every POV I have.

But it does have three notes.

I asked two “actual questions”

So if you aren’t trying to convince anyone of anything, what is your purpose posting in this thread? Just to piss people off? Do you know what the word is for someone that posts things with the aim of pissing people off?

There, that’s three more “actual questions” for you.

Yes, that is worse. And they didn’t do anything except raise sons who reached a level of success in their profession that few sons do.

I created a thread just for you…

My guess would be his purpose is: “LOOK AT MEEEEEEE!!!”
