They said it on the news again last night, that Trump was going to give a “major” speech. What a joke. That’s what they said about the previous one, too. (The one before the Scottish golf course speech. I don’t think the golf course speech was billed as “major”. I can’t tell the difference anyway.)
Trump says if he had appointed a Scalia replacement, the Supreme Court’s recent 5-3 Texas abortion decision would have gone the other way.
The sad thing is, the only people with worse math skills than Trump are his voters.
I was so confused. I couldn’t figure out how that would work. That he can’t tell that 5 is bigger than 4 didn’t occur to me.
And he’s a billionaire?
He obviously would have appointed himself and, since he’s such a good negotiator, convinced the other justices to vote with him 11-0.

Now we have Trumpty-Dumpty inviting Russia to hack Clinton and find the missing emails. What the fuck? A candidate for president is inviting a foreign government to commit espionage and interfere in our elections. How the hell is ANYONE supporting him?
They argue around it with the usual chants of “Clinton is worse,” then add in “Trump was just joking,” or rationalize with “it doesn’t matter where we get the intel if it puts Clinton behind bars where she belongs.” It’s sickening. They don’t live in the same reality.
If this were enough to shake their support, they’d have dumped him long ago for any number of examples of his idiotic words and behavior.
Trump reminds me of Charles Lindbergh in the late '30s, except that Lindbergh never ran for president except in the Philip Roth book.
To be ruthlessly fair, Trump’s wording leaves open an interpretation with the assumption that the Russians already have the e-mails, and Trump was urging that they be handed over to the FBI.
Therefore, not enticing them to further acts of espionage, but admitting acts already committed and turning United States evidence. Presumably, no witness protection programs are contemplated for Mr. Putin.

Back when I still had a subscription to Fortean Times, I’d enjoy reading the little blurbs in the “Strange News” section where the inhabitants of some African village somewhere would swear up and down that a local witch was stealing their genitals, or whatever. I swear it’s about the same level of self-delusion with the Hillary-haters.

I’ve grown up with Republicans hating and accusing people of being “commies”, etc. And now Trump is aligning himself with Russia???
I’ll be watching for the reaction from Republicans as to this. Although there are a lot of younger people around these days - maybe things have changed and they like Russia?
