I had already read that and added the link to my collection. It is a great piece. Glad you posted it also.
There’s another must-read in the New Yorker that outlines the history of the Prescott Bush Republicans to their current Trump-supporting ultra-wealthy me-me-me Republican movement. Eye opening for any who don’t quite understand how this phenomenon took hold. It’s been a long time coming, and it comports with my own recollections over the past 50-ish years.
At least we have Sarah Cooper to illustrate his abject stupidity using not only his own words, but his own voicing of those words. She’s my new favorite, apologies to Randy Rainbow.

Oh, sure, anybody can make Trump look dumb by recording him and playing back the things he says.
Dumb as a bag of left-handed hammers. Yet he single-handedly defeated both the Republican and Democrat establishments and won the Presidency. Hmmmm. What does that say about the rest of the Washington establishment?
Telling the media that Trump is an idiot is never going to accomplish anything. Whatsoever. These guys needed to tell Trump HIMSELF, to his fucking FACE, that he’s an idiot. That’s the only way to sufficiently get through to the kind of guy that Trump is, and I’m absolutely astonished that so many people still fail to realize this. You don’t cut a bully down to size by tattling on him. You have to put the fear of God in him directly.
I’ve been disturbed by Trump on many occasions,
Race war baiting
Inciting rage
Making fun of disabled persons
Visiting and courting evil Dictators
Grabbing pussies/treating women like crap
Lying right through his teeth
Being a bore
Ugly as hell
Him being stupid is probably the only thing that has saved us. He doesnt pay attention or can’t retain the knowledge to get us in real trouble.
He cares about no one but Donald J. Trump.
My old Granny used to say: Stupid is as Stupid does.
The Republicans built a system designed to put own on their own into power, and Trump latched onto it like a parasite. He didn’t do anything. The Republicans defeated themselves.
And, his dumbness should be a point in the election. It is the prime piece of evidence that wealth inequality has real consequences. Donald Trump is not a successful man in any way. He inherited everything he has, and obtained wealth and power because of who he was born to, and not who he is. That is detrimental to the country that we are being led by people who are born into their positions and did not earn them.
I have zero problem with people getting rich. I have a problem with people who are born rich. Nobody should be born without the opportunity to succeed, but perhaps just as importantly, nobody should be born with the opportunity to fail.
But he knows how to con people. He understands power. He knows how to manipulate people, and I suppose that requires intelligence on some level even if we don’t want to recognize it as such.
That, we cannot deny, no matter how utterly fucking idiotic we believe him to be.
