Trump supporters - so what is you think Trump's "Great America" will look like?

I know a few Trump folks. They really don’t even like the Republican Party as much as they don’t like globalization or what they feel globalization means. Instead of competing with other Americans, they feel they are having to compete with everyone is the world for the same jobs/resources, and that’s not fair because either “it’s rigged in their favor” or “they get free money and Affirmative Action” or something else. They feel closing the boarders keep the field more fair and wages don’t run towards the bottom. I don’t like speaking for other people though so maybe someone could come in and correct me.

I do think that if we were just nicer in general, both sides of this debate, we would actually get somewhere. “Up yours stupid ignorant racist” and “screw you nerdy elite snob” aren’t helpful for anyone.

Nice people made the best Nazis. My mom grew up next to them. They got along, refused to make waves, looked the other way when things got ugly and focused on happier things than ‘politics’. They were lovely people who turned their heads as their neighbors were dragged away. You know who weren’t nice people? Resisters.

The Left has tried to be nice. They tried to get along. They tried to reason. Didn’t work.

Gee, our old LaSalle ran great …

The water seems to be mostly solid at this point, but on the plus side, we could always be on the lookout for some kind of primordial ooze coming from this concoction. Winch up the bucket, and presto, whole new species!

Exactly. Be nice and get steamrolled, or at least make the steamroller work a little harder.

Some people want that!!!:eek::eek::smack::smack: And than there are people that are just tired of open borders and country being over run by immigration.

Building a wall and guard tower every 100 feet and over 5,000 or more border control agents patrolling every day. Yes this is dream a lot of Americans have.

Not giving out green cards and visas to every person.

“Don’t wanna hurt no kangaroo.”

You posted this to a place that is mostly anti trump
So you do not actually want to hear from any anti trump supporters
You do not really want to hear anyone else’s idea what america will look like that differ from your own, looks more like an attempt to bait the occasional person into a flame fest.

That probably isn’t what you wanted to hear, and i am sure you have a nice snazzy comeback that will be as equally entertaining as your opening post.

i understand your hesitancy, as almost all of the other repliers in this thread where quick to beat up on trump and his supporters, but as i said earlier i DO want to hear your (and any other supporters) ideas!

but i guess i’m outta luck.

So since you dont know, then you are just making things up correct?

U.S. dominated the world economically
Not a bad thing per say i guess, but i would worry more about US economy, and let the rest of the world figure out it’s own.

Lots of good factory jobs.
Not a bad thing, things made here by people here, bought by people here.

Blacks knew their place.
And you threw this in why? Got some kind of skeleton in your closet you don’t like to admit to or something? Must be some reason why that is one of the first things on your mind. Since you state you dont know anything about a trump supporter, keeping blackie in his place must have come nasty little necrotic place in your own heart.

Women stayed in the home.
Neither good nor bad, why don’t you elaborate?
For example are these home staying women actually valued for their contribution?
A woman who is a home maker is in fact CEO of a company called home, she runs the company, she sublets a commodity called HUSBAND out for a price, she runs all the other aspects of company HOME her self. Think of it as a temp agency of sorts.

But no, i am thinking you mean it in another little necrotic vision or some worthless wench slave type of person with no value, with the family dog being a better commodity.
You know, the kind where you slap them to a pulp, then throw them down the stairs, and they get you a martini before dinner?

People went to church on Sunday
Is simply dumb, because people still go to church on sunday, i have seen no lack of churches, in fact they go to church on fridays too, and other days depending on faith.
Or do you mean sunday as opposed to saturday.
I will give you the benefit of the doubt on that one that you dont actually know what that slight pertains to and just tossed it out as an honestly harmless silly thing.

Knowing some trump supporters who are just naive, and not evil, I can tell you what I think they want form him.

They expect him to provide them with jobs, healthcare, and a freedom from consequence of criticism of “non-PC” speech.

They expect that he will solve the “crime problem”.

They expect him to solve the “illegal immigration problem”.

The expect him to solve the “terrorism problem”.

In short, they voted for him because they wanted a better country, one with a better economy, better respect and standing in the world, better trade deals, and more security.

I personally disagree that voting trump into the office of the president would accomplish any of these objectives, but they had their reasons to believe that to be the case at the time.

These are mostly racists and ultra conservatives folks that think like that. That the US is degenerating morality some how.
I don’t know too many ultra conservatives that think females should stay at home but think they should be put in their place.

And no Trump is not trying to make Abortion illegal or even talking about it or saying that is what his view is even if he cannot make it illegal.

Trump does not come across really religious or talking about religious stuff like some of the past conservatives.

+1

they don’t know why, but they feel screwed and are therefore hostile. what they really need is some source of news that does NOT come from a corporate source.

Fine. Let’s bring back the 93% top marginal tax rate, and get our economy back to those halcyon days of the '50s.

From what I’ve heard from Trump supporters and Republicans I know:
U.S. dominated the world economically
With the rise of China, outsourcing to countries like India, and globalization in general, there seems to be this feeling that America is losing it’s place in the world. I think Trump supporters would like to go back to a time when America was the unquestioned superpower in the world.

Lots of good factory jobs.
None of the Trump supporters I know work in factories. But a lot of them seem to feel that the government is too intrusive regarding regulation and that is affecting businesses growth.
Blacks knew their place.
There seems to be a perception that the “Black Lives Matter” movement, as well as many leftist protests in general are just criminals complaining about the law and taking the opportunity to riot and break stuff. Also they don’t want to be bothered about political correctness.
Women stayed in the home.
Haven’t heard any comments on this. But I think generally, they don’t want to have to worry about being overly “PC”.
People went to church on Sunday
I don’t know about church, but I see a lot of people who seem to take being “forced” to say “happy holidays” as a personal affront.

thank you PoppaSan for your response. i particularly liked the way you took someone else’s thoughts on what “they think” and edited it; nice touch!

i was struck by your comment about the melting pot, as this is the number one thought that comes to my mind when someone waxes nostalgic about the good old days. being a child of the sixties i dont really remember it ever being that way, but it seems like alot of people do.

thanks again!

@ PoppaSan
Abortion and crime rates are down.
Boeing is doing great, long backlog of orders.
Lower taxes are wonderful, but not at the expense of increasing the deficit.
Unemployment has been dropping for almost 8 years.
Is Trump a model for being more trusting and less cynical? That’s nice.
