That no. The true number may be more than Clinton +4 secondary to a Rasmussen GOP lean but, unless that lean changes for them from poll to poll, the trend is still the same size.
Thus Reuters/Ipsos went from tied to +8 in that time and Rasmussen went from Trump +5 to Clinton +4. Both, using very different techniques, trended the same amount over roughly the same time period.

The difference is that he can’t hide behind this being immigration policy, it is so obviously for personal gain. Ragging on illegal Mexicans because of crime and the drain on public resources is one thing, ragging on a specific judge of Mexican descent because your fraud case isn’t going the way you want is quite another.
The most notable trend I’ve been seeing lately has been on the editorial pages of my local rag - the Chicago Trib. They have a pretty diverse crew of revolving writers. Some of the shriller on the right - like Kathleen Parker, George Will, I’ve generally found difficult to read, as they have never met the conservative/Republican issue they would criticize, and never pass an opportunity to slag on libs/Dems.
Over the last couple weeks there have been multiple essays by these writers INCREDIBLY critical of Trump, blatantly stating that he is unfit to be president. They still criticize Hillary, but essentially say that she is the only sensible choice when the alternative is Trump.
I’d have to look back to compare, but ISTR they had at least been begrudgingly supportive of some aspects of Trump’s candidacy/message.
Just wanted to toss this out there as something I had noticed. Keeping my fingers crossed here…

I was actually referring to the total, point being that if Rassmusen was ignored the aggregate polling (the combination of polls that RealClearPolitics and others like Huffington Post report) would show Clinton as being higher than 4+ right now. You are correct about the trend but I’m saying that the actual spread is important as the aggregate number can then help us look at the likely results that will also affect the electorate college and downwind races.

But the point of aggregation is to put all the house leans into the same pot knowing that they end up roughly neutralizing each other. Rasmussen gets offset, to some degree, by YouGov …
FWIW 538 now rates Fox both highly (A-) and with, believe it or not, if anything a minimal Democratic lean (!) of 0.4. The new Fox number is Clinton +3 with the RCP rolling average now Clinton +3.8. FWIW.
Oh. The trend in Fox’s polls? 3 weeks ago was Trump +3, so a 6 point shift Clintonward over 3 weeks. In their poll the shift mainly occurring with Trump losing support among Republicans (down 3 points) and among independents (down 11).
The thing that practically everyone seems quick to ignore, is that Hillary is beholdent to Wall street and international corporations over the American people (NAFTA and the TPP).
Trump mentioned in a letter to Bernie that race is rigged when asking if he would run as an independent after she stole the election - I would be stunned if it isn’t. The deepest pockets in the western hemisphere are doing all they can to get her elected. Look how hard even the Republican party is working to stop him. There’s no doubt that this is the most important election of world history considering the looming mass extinction and insolvency of our own nation.

I’m pretty sure that Obama was the first Democrat that The Trib endorsed for President…ever. I wonder what they will do this time.
Now that the Democratic Party is uniting behind Clinton and Trump continues to press the self destruct button, look for Hillary to start pulling away. Her war chest is going to be HUGE, while Trump thinks he can get by with free media like he did through the primaries. Hillary has the Murderer’s Row of surrogates (Bill, Obama, Warren, and probably Sanders) while Trump can’t get one ex-president to support him. We have a long way to go, but Trump simply can’t afford another week like the last.
