Upon learning about the pardon requests submitted by Juliani and Meadows to tRump, I had to have a little chuckle. Who was going to give Trump a pardon? If Trump goes down, he is going to take others with him. So Donald ignored the pleas of his loyal supporters and fails to back them when he had a chance. That is loyalty Trump style, and those two idiots still support him. go figure
It’s far more than two whom he’s thrown to his wolves but yet they continue to support him.
Whoever is elected as a future GOP POTUS during his lifetime will be his Gerald Ford. Hopefully, nobody.
Trump’s first action after being elected president in 2024 from inside his federal prison cell will be to pardon himself and walk out a free man that same day. His second action will be to hold a rally. He’ll have a lot of rally catchin’ up to do.
I’m saying this jokingly, aren’t I?
I thought I had posted above yours at least semi-jokingly, but upon reflection, it’s much more likely than not that the next GOP POTUS will pardon anyone who got convicted in the Trump administration, including Trump, even posthumously if that’s a thing, just to get in the good graces of the MAGA crowd. Low downside, big boost in his MAGA approval.
Let’s not forget about state convictions. The President can’t do diddly about those.
Have there been any State convictions related to Jan 6th? I thought they were all Federal.
Trump has yet to resign from the office of President. No quid, no quo, so to speak.

I specifically forbade the election of any more Republican presidents back during the campaign of 2008, and repeated the ban in 2012 and 2016. I remember Bricker taunting me about that on November 9. He didn’t ask what I was going to do about the electorate defying my command, but I have disavowed any responsibility for the consequences of the Earth falling into the sun, or otherwise being removed from the “Goldilocks Zone.”
That’s right. If the electorate had simply followed my instruction and the planet had been destroyed anyway, you would all have been able to blame me personally.
Now, you’re on your own. You can thank your fellow Americans who couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Hillary.
It would be great for Biden to give Giuliani and Meadows offers for pardons to get a conviction of Trump, with prison time. I’d be willing to offer that. Maybe to Roger Stone and some of the other characters in this saga as well - who else was on the Pardon wagon? I think Flynn and Bannon are too far gone, tho.
I believe the Justice Department can simply give them immunity from prosecution. The best part of that for those two is that they’d have that guarantee before testifying, and for the rest of us it means they wouldn’t be allowed to plead the 5th Amendment.
I think the reality is that Trump’s supporters are mostly supporting themselves by hanging around Trump.
Yeah, anyone attaching themselves to Trump is doing it because there are no other options.
I think for many of them, it’s a case of seeing a good opportunity.
Trump: “My fellow patriots! I need your help to defeat the liberals and make America great again!”
People send Trump money
Trump: ‘These idiots don’t realize I’m just telling them what they want to hear to get access to their money.’
Random Trump worker: “Wow, Mr Trump. You’re the greatest businessman and the greatest leader the world has ever seen. And you’re so good looking as well.”
Trump: “You obviously have good judgment. I’m putting you to work in my campaign.”
Random Trump worker: ‘This idiot doesn’t realize I’m just telling him what he wants to hear to get access to his money.’
Trump is running a con game against his followers. But he’s surrounded by people who are running a con game against him. Trump has collected huge amounts of donations. But a large percentage of those donations have “disappeared”.
Somebody like Richard Nixon or Vladimir Putin or Vito Corleone would be smart enough to steal money and hang on to it. But Trump’s not that smart. He can get money (because there are people even dumber than he is) but he can’t keep it.
How I wish that were the case! But, in today’s political world in the United States, the MAGATs (anyone at all who supports Trump) is a True Believer. They’re in this because they believe the BS.
From the thread title, I figured he was demanding an aircraft carrier named after him.
Sure, the MAGATs believe Trump’s lies; they’re the dummies Trump is conning.
I’m talking about the people who managed Trump’s campaign and administration. I’m betting most of them were smarter than Trump.
Look at Brad Parscale. He was Trump’s campaign manager for a year and a half. During that time, he set up a consulting company and funneled $17,000,000 of Trump’s campaign funds to the company.
Now we just need some random WaPo reporter to find a suspected burglar (or other criminal) with a cashier’s check for $25,000 that was originally a campaign donation to President Trump.

I don’t think this is true across the board. Sure, there are some that really do “believe”, but I am confident there is a large contingent who don’t really “believe” but also don’t really care. Their main concern is making liberals uncomfortable - it’s like crack for them, so they simply look past the inconsequential (to them) BS and are just looking for their next hit of sweet liberal tears. Whomever can deliver that is their hero forever!
That’s the center of the con. Trump doesn’t care about the MAGATs. And he doesn’t care about liberals. Donald Trump only cares about Donald Trump.
Trump tells the MAGATs he hates the liberals so they will vote for him and send him money. That’s the con.
