Concurred. Worse than the 2020 lead-up, for sure, but not enough to completely jeopardize the electoral process.
Quite the rankling article upthread on Miller.
Georgia’s early numbers are a feel-good thing.
The gold attire / rally next day co-inky-dinky never crossed my mind.
Drum solo by Rudy?
Hey doesn’t Huckabee play bass?
And you know, that may well be the case in Georgia, too. Still, it’s well known that big voter turnout generally favors Dems. Whatever it is about the high turnout situation, it sure makes Gabriel Sterling happy!
How does he know?
All he knows is that on the first day, 340,000 people voted.
The actual countimg of the early votes isn’t done until Nov 5
Those 340,000 people could be split 49.9% vs 50.1%, (or whatever the pollsters are saying ) .
You should read the post I made just above yours. I acknowledged this.
In this election cycle, Idk whether we can be so sanguine. I’m certainly hopeful, but I’m not betting the election on it.
I am.
Gabriel Sterling doesn’t know who they voted for any more than you or I know. But unlike you or me, he does know who they are and what party affiliation they’re registered as.
He’s really happy with that turnout. That’s what I’m looking at.
My mom said she almost feels sorry for the MSG “comedian” bc she thinks his career is over. I hate to disabuse her of the idea…
BTW I’m now seeing a few instances of MAGAS suggesting that he was a Democratic plant to sabotage Trump.
Yeah, he’ll just take over for Watters when Jesse goes just a bit too far.
Aw, just call it Trump’s Monosodium Glutamate rally, and hang “No MSG” signs outside polling places.
(I’ve been trying to come up with a joke about MSG since Trump’s rally, and that’s the best I’ve got.)
Trump does have an MSG headache.
Trump’s MSG headache?
How about something something headache?
I’m glad the OP started this thread, because I too have been wondering what they were thinking with that hot mess. In no way does it improve Trump’s odds of winning, and at absolute best doesn’t hurt (though, I’m pretty sure it does hurt).
I notice that over at Fox News there’s a bunch of stories today about Harris’ gaffes, one about her admitting on a hot mic that she’s struggling with male voters (watching them try to make that scandalous is fun), an awkward moment at one of her events, something about Obama saying something dumb.
Point is, you should check it out because it looks like a whole page of counter-programming. “Nuh-uh, Trump’s rally wasn’t bad. Harris’ was”
MAGA types have made similar arguments about other people over the last few years. My favorite being that Alina Habba was a Democratic, I’m sorry, Democrat agent deliberately performing poorly as a lawyer to make Trump look bad.
The Trump campaign has been doing that for a while now. Apparently it’s Harris who is the fascist (Trump being the opposite of a Nazi), it’s Harris/Walz who are “weird,” and more recently MAGA has been claiming their campaign is the one of joy and hope.
At this point Trump’s whole campaign strategy seems to be, “I’m rubber, you’re glue.”* That means they’re playing defense though, so maybe that’s something.
*And racism. And misogyny. Lots and lots of racism and misogyny.
For those who don’t remember the first high-profile instance of Trump whipping out “I know you are, but what am I …”
