Trump to launch ‘thank you’ tour with Thursday rally in Cincinnati
Well, it has been almost three weeks since his ego has been fed by screaming crowds. Best to do this now before his fans figure out how he’s pulled the rug out from under them.
Shouldn’t the headline be “Loser Trump Declares He Will Be President to Minority of Population”?
He’s already walked back on the border wall, Obamacare, mass deportations, banning Muslims, cooperating with NATO, getting tough on trade deals and prosecuting Hillary. Those were pretty much the foundation for the entire platform his deranged fans voted for. They should already be feeling the rug burn it was pulled out from under them so fast.
As a group they’re a little slow on the uptake, granted, but by now it must be creeping slowly into their awareness that they’ve just been shafted harder than an aspiring secretary on Trump Tower’s interview couch.
At this point I’d worry that frequent unnecessary public appearances might allow some of those 2nd amendment nuts he urged to take care of Clinton to get a lucky shot at him instead. (I’d worry about that because Pence is an even more dangerous asshole than Trump)
On the other hand, I have heard all kinds of stories (mostly on NPR) where they interviewed Trump voters, both before and after the election, and many of them said “I don’t really think he will or can do all those things, I just want to shake things up because Washington is completely broken” or words to that effect. So maybe the faithful aren’t particularly rabid about particular programs, as they are about having things different.
I’m afraid that’s what they’re going to get.

I wonder if Trump is un-self-aware enough to hand out armbands with a symbol on it to his cheering followers?

There are less than two months before the inauguration. Among other things, he has to fill about 4,000 positions. He has to plan how he will govern. I would criticize him because this is a waste of time.

I agree that the victory tour is a fairly minor thing to quibble about on its face, but we were reliably informed in the past that Mr. Trump couldn’t have the Trump University trial before the inauguration because he would be devoting “all his time and attention to the transition process.” I think it would be rather generous to call this… whatever it is, a part of the “transition process.”
