Idk. Trump is seeking a paltry amount that would result in a marginal increase to the wall, if any at all.
I’m glad to see an advocate of state nullification, even if you don’t apply it elsewhere.
Don’t want a wall, not worked up about it. I have been against any kind immigration enforcement or deterrent besides ending subsidies to immigrants, and I remain so.
I do find enjoyment in laughing at the pawns in both parties who are worked up over this.
We shouldn’t. It’s just funny that the hacks are up in arms over a few meters of wall. This is a marginal issue.
Yeah it’s just funny that people didn’t care about the wall we have had for years. Now that they are trying to increase it a bit, they say things like “no wall”, as if this was a Trump product.
No I advocate for less taxes on the rich and the poor. I am neither. You’ve just described most liberals I hear.
As I said the conman needs something to point to to keep the con going. If we give him that the country goes further down the con rabbit hole. We need to start climbing out. He’s already given the plot away insisting that whatever is agreed upon must be something he can “sell” as a wall. That’s all this is to him. Selling his marks on the con. Helping him do that hurts all of us.
The best-case scenario is that the Dotard (guided by the people who have to deal with him in person and thus bear the brunt of his temper tantrums) is given some tangential aspect of border security that he can try to pass off as a “win” on the wall issue, but the right-wing media circus isn’t having any and loudly informs the marks that the Mango Messiah got pantsed by Pelosi again.
The reason Texas doesn’t want the wall is not because they’re into nullification, it is because the border in Texas is mostly privately owned land that would need to be appropriated via eminent domain. For people who have to balance “they’re coming for your wimmen!” vs. “The government is going to take your land”, the passion just isn’t as hot for the wall.
Weren’t the existing sections built on public land, and sold as a drug-interdiction strategy? Now it is proposed on private land, and sold as a monument to hatred. There are distinctions here.
I’m surprised this has gone on so long without the eminent domain aspect getting more attention. The plan is pretty much not feasible because of this, and that should be the end of it.
But no, the deadline to have something ready to sign by the 15th is tomorrow, and I have not seen much in the way of a deal. Get ready for a Cat 5 stupid storm, folks.
