Would he pose for a Colossus of Rhodes type statue?
I would contribute 5 bucks to that, so long as the statue included someone’s shoe giving Trump a hearty kick in the nuts and his face reflecting all the pain that results.
Neither, actually. He’s suggesting that ALL Democrats AND Republicans should spontaneously combust.
Voluntarily, of course. Far be it from him to suggest that they be coerced into anything…
WillFarnaby sez:
“Trump is seeking a paltry amount that would result in a marginal increase to the wall, if any at all.”
That’s weird, don’t you think? Because that is totally NOT what Trump promised his chanting, red-hatted morons on the campaign trail.

There are so many places to put this, but I decided to go with the current Shutdown/Wall thread because it is relevant on a lot of issues being touched on here:
In hopes of averting a second shutdown, democrats and republicans have come to a compromise deal on “wall”(?) funding. Lisa Dejardins points out comcerns like documentation and appointments @ 2:53.
Since the first shutdown was not caused by Dems and Repubs not coming to consensus, but by Trump’s actions, this is still where we were 8 weeks ago.
Of course. It’s just nice that a bi-parisan bill got to him first, this time, instead of Ann Coulter.
He yapped tonight about not being happy with it but pleased with the direction they’re going (for whatever that BS is worth), so if he torpedoes things this time into another shutdown, I’ll bet Pepperidge Farms that this will be, by far, the harshest blow to Trump’s prezzzziduncy.
YMMV at what may constitute “blow”, I spose, but it should be the biggest threat to his hold on his base.
To edit: (fuck this phone with edit function)
I should say that it’s nice that this bi-partisan bill should carry more impact than Ann Coulter this time around.
… we hope.
I do think Individual-1 will sign it, but I want to see it first. I just don’t trust him for some unknown reason…
That IS weird.
I know, right?
Oh, he’ll sign it. And then add a scrawl at the bottom that says:
“And yu will also give me billions of dolars for my big beutiful wall!”
Hey, that’s what signing statements are for!
Is there an over/under on whether he actually signs it? Our local newspaper’s headline is “Trump May Back Deal” but even Trump doesn’t know what he’s going to do until he does it. I give it a 40% chance of another fit of pique/shutdown.
The instant he sees someone calling him in print a loser or a coward or a lousy negotiator is the instant he decides to not sign the thing.
No, it’d have to be on TV. He doesn’t read. Otherwise, agree.
Unfortunately, he wanted 5.6-billion. The bipartisan bill that landed on his desk had 1.7-billion. Even though he said he would sign a bp bill, the talking heads at Faux News* talked him into pulling a snit fit and rejecting it, closing down the government.
Last time I looked, Congress was looking at offering 1.4-billion. All it will take is for someone on the list of people he listens to (a very short list) how it reflects poorly on his mad negotiation skilz to trigger another shutdown. McConnell might tell him Congress (or at least the Senate) has no stomach for further chicanery, but he ain’t on the list.
*Who elided the second half off their motto: Fair and balanced (my ass)
He’ll do whatever it takes to knock everything/everyone else out of the headlines and put him first. :dubious:
