Trying to find a source of cheap "pride" charms

Hey all, I know this isn’t a jewrely making forum or Esty, but I thought I’d try anyway.
I design specialized jewrely. I don’t have a site yet, as I’m going through the patent process.
I have a GLB event coming up. I’m looking for pride themed cheap charms (under $1.00 each) I am looking for “dangle”/ small pendant charms. I haven’t found anything out there…can anyone help?

I’m not offering to make … however if you want a cute dangle charm idea, get the little wires called eyepins and a rainbow of colors from sculpey. Using the cane technique, make rainbows, and mount on the eyepins.

Quick and dirty, and reasonably easy to make.

How many do you need? How big?

Forgot…when do you need them?

I needed something to do while I stayed up all night so instead of surfing the boards, I played with clay.

Unfortunately, I suck at canes so I can’t give any evidence that it would work for you. I’m sure someone who isn’t completely incompetent could help there.

However, I did keep playing after I gave up on canes (again).

Depending on what exactly you’re looking for, you can do this very simply and very cheaply.

You’d need clay, a cheapo hand crank pasta machine, cutting tools.

With just those (and an oven) you can make various flag type pendants. I happened to grab the basic colors so I only made the rainbow flag. But, with different colors and the same very simple technique, you can make the bisexuality and transgender flags.

  1. Condition the clay
  2. Roll out a rectangle of black (or any other base color) using the largest setting on the pasta machine.
  3. Roll long, thin snakes of each flag color
  4. Line colors up on the base color
  5. Lightly press down to secure
  6. Run through the pasta machine on largest setting (carefully)
  7. Lower to next setting and run through again
  8. Run through as many times as you want to get as thin as you want
  9. Cut our the shape you want (I did rectangles for the basic flag look but you can do any shape you want)
  10. Use a thin pointy tool to make a hole where you want your hardware to go
  11. Cook according to directions on the package
  12. Cool and attach hardware. (You can sand and glaze if you want but it’s not necessary)

Very basic, 15-20 minute Rainbow flag. I did this fast so my colors aren’t perfect, the blue is way too wide.

If you want to get more complicated, you can make other symbols but the flags probably would be the easiest since you can mass produce them just as you would if you can cane. I made one short strip and got 10 flags. If you decide to make them more vertically rectangular (thinner, in other words), you can get even more of them.

I used a very small amount of clay to make these. If you want to make these yourself, all you’d have to buy is materials. Each block of clay will run you about $2.50 or $3.00 but you can make a very large amount with 1 block of each color. A pasta machine will run about $20 and the cutting tools about $5 or $10.

I don’t need these til the end of June…but just trying to find something. I have access to the bead stores in NYC…still looking. I was hoping to find rainbow buttons (they have these weird buttons in craft stores that are in the shapes of things like dinosaurs, and things like that. I’ve used those for my product)
The size I’m looking for is about charm bracelet/cell phone charm sized. They also can’t be too heavy.

Button like pin button or like hold your shirt closed button?

damn…if the jewrely theif one was a dangle it would be PERFECT! Especially with price (with my product the limit on price for a dangle is $1.00 each)
I have two dangles that say “pride” But I can’t get more.
The buttons I’m talking about are these: http://www.jessejamesbeads.com/buttons.html...but I haven’t been able to find rainbow or gay pride ones (and the idea cracks me up seeing as this product seems to be targeted towards grandma types)

Try Fire Mountain Gems and Beads = www.firemountaingems.com, I use them all the time and Oriental Trading Company = www.orientaltrading.com, both do bulk buying.

Double Male Charm Awesome price. Unfortunately, it doesn’t cover all your bases.

Gay Pride Direct Wholesaler. Says they sell to tradespeople. Need to be an approved wholesale customer to sign up. Don’t know how you go about becoming approved. But, they have a lot of charms.

Half way down the page. I have no idea how to order from them but they have 2 charms for under $1
