Tuba/Accordion Street Performers

This summer my roommate and I saw two people performing on the street (Burlington, VT USA): a woman playing accordion and a man playing tuba. We almost passed them by until we realized that they were playing Van Halen’s “Jump”. So cool. They were playing covers of rock songs and taking requests. I asked them to play “Baba O’Reiley” (the Who) and they pulled through with an incredible, unforgettable rendition. Has anyone else here seen them? All I know of them is that they were touring because the woman had to drive cross-country anyway to attend her Pappy’s funeral, so decided to make it into a big trip. I would love to find out more about them.

Damn, this is weird. I had a similar experience last summer in Virginia Beach, Va. A group such as you described was playing “Smells Like Teen Spirit” on the street…Really cool actually. I have no idea who they were though.

Plato? Aristotle? Socrates? Morons!

Well, I don’t think I’ve ever been in Burlington, and it’s been nearly a year since I’ve been east of the mighty Mississip, but let me just say, that sounds so friggin’ cool. Tuba and accordian street rock duet… Does it get any better than that?
