TubaDiva has passed away

I once met Jenny at her favorite restaurant and enjoyed our short time together and getting to know her a little better. I found her to be just as elegant and kind as described here in so many posts of condolence.

It’s not always easy for me to use words to describe a personality, but she was a true lady both in person and here.

I offer my sincere condolences to you and to her family.

Somehow I missed this sad, sad news.

Tuba/Jenny was a magnificent soul. Over the years, her communications with me made that very clear indeed.

She kept this place alive. I can only try to imagine how hard she must have been working these last months in setting up the new board.

Rest in peace, Jenny.

Terrible circumstances, but good to see you Quasi.

Somebody posted her passing in that thread so Im guessing this is why the link is here.

Wait, what? Oh no!

I’m in shock. She’s been a constant presence on this board since I first joined. I’m more of a lurker than an actual participant, and I can’t really remember if I ever interacted with her personally, but this is still like a punch in the gut.

My sincere condolences to her family, friends, and everyone who knew her…

My condolences to her family and friends.

This is a great loss.

Agreed. It’s the least we can do in light of all the bitching and moaning she put up with during her final months here.

Or donations for a TubaDiva SD membership fund.

Except that I don’t think there is any mechanism to pay for subscriptions, custom titles or anything else. I assume that was on the to do list once the board went live on Discourse.

You can only know so much about a person based on their online presence alone. But what I did know of her tells me this world didn’t deserve her anyway.

Quasimodem: Thank you for posting. I’ve been wondering how you’ve been.

Not yet. Jenny was working on it, we’ll have to wait a while, but it’s still a great idea.

Posting this and asking for (hopefully) forgiveness instead of permission. I am passing on words from someone TubaDiva knew well—her pal, Satan aka Brian.

*We had some rough spots back in the day (to put it mildly) but I was glad that we patched them up enough to be friends on Facebook.

You will be missed, lady Tubadiva.

Satan was one of the people I put on my “Who’s Missing on the Board” thread.

Thank you for joining.
I’ll try to stay in the loop about how to help out her family.

I join those concurring with this motion. I knew the name, but I don’t recall interacting with TubaDiva on the board. When I had trouble making the transition, however, I e-mailed her, and she quickly addressed my problem. I had saved her responses “just in case”, and now have even more reason not to delete them. Ave atque vale, Jenny.

OMG
Lurker first over a dozen years, finally registered with the transition, all thanks to her.
The words to express my feelings don’t belong on this forum. You will be missed.

Damn. So shocking and so sad. Condolences to her family and friends.

So very sorry to hear this. May her memory be a blessing.
