TubaDiva is back as an admin after less than 30 days - how do YOU feel?

Night night analogy!
Daniel

Just to clarify, it was IMO entirely foreseeable that the course of action pursued could lead to such legal concerns and it is clearly stated on the Megans law info how it may and may not be used.

You know that not posting replies everytime someone replies to your replies would accomplish that, right?

Also Sprach California:

Now, does anyone contend that the public disclosure of a registered sex offender’s name and address is, by itself, a misdemeanor or felony pursuant to California law? If so, please specify the precise misdemeanor or felony that you believe qualifies. If not, please refrain from further unfounded suggestion that any actual laws were broken by disclosing such information.

Really? Please cite me to the provision you are referring to, by section and subsection. Because personally, I think you’re talking out of your ass on that matter.

Thanks, minty. I knew I wasn’t hallucinating.

And while I’m shamelessly brownnosing, thanks, Poly, for your post first thing this morning; I appreciate the compliment. I figure if Poly and minty have got my back on at least parts of what I’m saying, I can’t be too far out in left field.

You’re a baby-raper too? This place is crawling with them!

Dude … you’re not helping at all. By and large, this thread is staying civil, which in turns keeps this thread alive. IMHO, it’s in the interest of the board to keep an avenue for discussion of this issue open. You are jeopardizing that with personal attacks.

Don’t get frustrated that minds aren’t changing here. That’s not going to happen, and that’s not the point of this thread anyway. Much understanding is being fostered here (to me, at least). Let’s not destroy this thread.

I wish everyone here would go back and read a thread posted byHorrifying Howler Monkey titled “Best way of coping with no food for a short period”?

QED referred to this in response to a question by a prospective member who thought this board wasn’t worth paying for.

I have never been moved by the actions of strangers in my life as I was when I read that!

THAT is the board I joined! THAT is the board I want to be a member of!

I can smell an agenda a mile off and there is more than one going on here. Put the all away! No one is going to live or die by what happened here. In the grand scheme of things, it matters no more than what you had for breakfast.

Please, please, take a minute to go back and read that thread. THATS what you people are all about! THATS what this board is all about!

HEH :wally Ran out of room! Just one more thing. I’m still staying and I still think you folks are the ones in the thread I referred to. If I knew how I’d link it in some way but I haven’t mastered that skill yet.

Come on folks, live up to your reputations!

I’m a newbie ,and I’m just sayin.

Yet another post that makes me even more determined to stay and pay.

Anyone else need a renewal? I’ll pay. Email in profile.

Welcome back TubaDiva !

I forgot: BlueRuin, Is your life ruined, now that you can’t post your filth on the trainwreck LJ anymore? Awww. *:: pat pat pat:: *

Then I’ll have to assume it takes a “guttless” coward to know one.

Looks like Tuba’s posting of his SOR violated LJ policy:

So, since it had his full name, address and picture, that would indeed count as a violation.

I just thought I’d try insulting people who disagree with me. It was fun, but I’m done now.

I disagree.

Oh, supposedly Tuba lives near a registered SO and that’s why she took it out on the banned poster. Big fucking deal.

I think that was the preface to my American History text back in grade school.

I think the quote people are referring to is from the Megan’s Law website itself, namely:

“The information on this web site is made available solely to protect the public. Anyone who uses this information to commit a crime or to harass an offender or his or her family is subject to criminal prosecution and civil liability.”

(bolding mine).

And from the FAQ:
“I want to share with others the information I found on the Attorney General’s Megan’s Law Website. Does the law prohibit me in any way from sharing this information?
A person may use the information disclosed on the Attorney General’s Web site only to protect a person at risk. It is a crime to use the information disclosed on the Attorney General’s Internet Web site to commit a misdemeanor or felony. Unless the information is used to protect a person at risk, it is also prohibited to use any information that is disclosed pursuant to this Internet Web site for a purpose relating to health insurance, insurance, loans, credit, employment, education, scholarships, fellowships, housing, accommodations, or benefits, privileges, or services provided by any business. Misuse of the information may make the user liable for money damages or an injunction against the misuse. Before using the information disclosed on this Web site, you may want to consult with an attorney or merely suggest to others that they view the Web site for themselves.”

I’m sure you, a trained lawyer, can figure out if what Tuba did was “misuse” or not in a legal sense, but I’m sure that I can’t. I haven’t heard anybody say that Tuba consulted with an attorney before disclosing the information, however.

Were you really meaning to respond to me, Guin?
