TubaDiva is not fit to be in a position of power on this board.

Does that not sound like drmark posting about his (not) forthcoming thesis?

Sure. Now pick something from the same post as the perceived threat.

Ah, I didn’t track all the way back to whatever thread originated the thread that originated the thread that originated this thread. My apologies.

I still don’t understand how a Pit Thread full of righteous froth is going to engender the kind of answer you wanted, or why you would expect anybody to step into a thread like this, but hey, it’s your dime.

Man, with all the psychics in this thread, I’m amazed that no one’s taken the James Randi challenge.

Now, let me see if I can phrase my viewpoint in a way that will be sure to be ripped apart as being “bitchy” or “snarky,” no matter what it actually says:

Tuba and Dex have demonstrated through their postings in this and other threads that they regard a number of posters on this board as being worthy of snarking, contempt and veiled threats. These posters all have one thing in common: they have disagreed with a specific action taken by one of the two.

I (and others) believe that when a person takes a position of authority, they are agreeing to submit themselves to a higher standard: one where everyone they come in contact with is afforded at least a degree of civility and respect. The behavior Tuba and Dex have shown through their posting, in my opinion, falls well short of that standard. They have been openly hostile to posters who enjoy this community enough to keep paying to be a part of it, and have assigned motive to posters without taking the time to actually read and understand the issue at hand.

I maintain that ANY moderator who cannot be bothered to read a discussion or refrain from insulting paid posters without clearly signifying their opinions are not being spoken as a moderator should not continue in their position. And any moderator who makes threats against other posters should be dealt with in the same manner as a regular poster.

So that’s what I want from all this: clearer, more consistent and less acrimonious moderation and administration. Is that too much to ask? Am I just a grumbling whiner who needs to STFU or leave?

I wasn’t referring to the “threat” but rather Tuba’s posts prior to catsix’s complaints. That thread was just fine until she butted in.

Hmm. You and Miller may be right. My apologies, mhendo.

Daniel

Aaaaand now we’re back to “Well gee, don’t disagree with the administration and everything will be fine!”

And catsix has demonstrated the same thing in regards to Tuba.

No, we’re on catsix has a history of animosity toward TPTB in general and Tubadiva in particular.

And the rest of us, who have no such history? Why are our thoughts on the matter unworthy of attention?

Is an administrator ever justified in making a threat to suspend or ban when a member has not violated a rule?

Given that several people saw the possibility of a threat, are none of the members who asked for a clarification of the issue worthy of a response?

It might’ve helped if someone who wants Tuba to resign didn’t start the asking.

Whine, whine, whine… would ya like some cheese?

I see she’s providing a good enough example in “How to not answer a question when it is directly posed to you.”

Well, that was certainly a well-reasoned and intelligent response.

It’s quite as well reasoned as Garfield226’s crying, whining and complaining about Tuba. So he has a long stanging issue with her, why should anyone care. I left this thread alone, but he’s like a five year old stamping him foot because he can’t get his way.

Damn it… stanDing issue.

Actually, I’ve been here a while, and I can only recall having an issue with her in the past year, so I don’t know how “long stanging” that really is.

And you have some strange definition of “left this thread alone.”

And (as I seem to have said quite a lot now) doesn’t the fact that a lot of more reasonable people agree that it would be good if Tuba provided clarification make the issue seem more important?

As a matter of fact… no.
