She didn’t respond to a direct question, posed to her just after her post in ATMB, what makes you think titling a thread that way would make any difference? She knows I and others want a clarification. Asking it in the title is somehow supposed to make her more aware of this?

No, I just think your title more truthfully charaterizes your attitude than your request for clarification. You don’t want her to clarify, you want her to be fired.
If it hasn’t become abundatly clear to you yet, they are not going to respond in a manner that you will deem satisfactory, if at all.

I don’t care how this turns out because I’m not here for the aggrandizement of the moderators, I’m here for my own entertainment. I am, however, weary of this nonsense. You have two options: stay, or leave. Either way you need to get over this.
Of course I want her to be fired. Well, that’s not entirely truthful: Resignation would be acceptable too. You think I would have titled my thread this if I didn’t? You think I would have said this multiple times in ATMB if I didn’t?
Actually, what I’m saying is that right now, with the way she’s acting (the statement she made in the first place, refusing to clarify it when asked directly, refusing to apologize if it’s warranted by her clarification), she doesn’t deserve to be in her position. If she clarifies, maybe I don’t feel that way anymore. I doubt it, but as I said, I have allowed for the possibility.
However I realize that her being fired just plain isn’t going to happen. I’ve been around here seven years, I know how things work. Still, I’ve paid my money and I get to express my opinion, as long as they choose to let me. So here it is.
Regarding Tubadiva
I see her from the little snippets of postings she has provided and postings by others who have tried to explain her as the mother hen of a raucous brood. Who hasn’t had a mother that hasn’t pissed them off? Its fine to talk back to your mother when you feel you’ve been done wrong by, but if you don’t let up, you just become a pain in the ass and you’ve solved nothing for yourself.
As great as this message board is, it depends on volunteers, especially the pioneers. Those dopers who are closer to the administration of this message board understand this and will make sensible allowances for her accordingly in the best interests of us all who are here.
We all come with negative and positive attributes. Tubadiva should be judged on her contribution as a whole which in my opinion based on what I’ve read pretty damn well approaches indespensability.
So don’t open my thread if you’re “weary” of it. I’ll direct you to the last paragraph of my post to Helen’s Eidolon.
Well, now that I’ve determined this is the exact same whining I’ve been seeing for however many years, and I’m realized that I really am fucking bored of it, I wish I hadn’t, in fact, opened the thread.
If people have been “whining,” saying that one particular administrator shouldn’t be an administrator for “however many years,” . . .

If I got a “modest stipend,” maybe I’d consider it.
Can I block the titles, too? No. Am I going to have to see a new one of these every three days? If the answer is yes you’re putting it in my face, and it’s getting old. If the answer is no I guess I can expect this to be the last of it?

Are you honestly telling me my TWO (2) threads in the pit are more annoying than Reeder incessant braying about George W. Bush was? Tell you what, I promise to limit myself to one thread on the front page of the pit at a time, k’?
And as has been said, if the administration would actually have enough respect to address the issue instead of continuing to ignore it, it would, indeed, be the last of it.
IIRC, there were some posts saying that the stipend is indeed quite modest. Just so that you know what you are getting into…

For crying out loud, Garfield226, it has been addressed,in various ways, by various mods and admins, in all the various threads. Problem is, there are only two things which will satisfy you:

Until either of those events transpires, you will continue to insist that the issue has not been addressed, and quite frankly, I am fucking sick of it.
Oh, they’ll listen. A successful boycott would likely do the trick. But, like most others in first-world countries, we’d so much rather have our prestige titles than a voice.
There was the original thread where the comment was made in the pit, which was closed. There was a thread asking for clarification in ATMB, which was closed. There was the first thread I started in the pit, which fell off the front page when another was started in ATMB. That ATMB thread is now closed, which prompted this one. Three in the pit (one closed, one off the front page), two in ATMB (both closed).
I don’t know why you’ve got such a bug in your butt about this. If you don’t see it as an issue, fine. I’m not calling for other people to get involved: No “Come on people! Let’s band together and they’ll HAVE to listen!” from me. That’s stupid. If you want to ignore this issue, it’s no skin off my nose. You’ll be in good company.
