We’re trying to figure out tonight when we’ll be in Phoenix. The main problem is that we can’t afford a rental car this trip so we’re sort of at the mercy of everyone else…
Do you expect to be in Phoenix within a few days, or will that be in a week or more?
Waaah! It looks like we won’t be able to make it to Phoenix. We won’t have a way to get there and we can’t find any dates that work for both us and my father in law (where we would be staying).

Well, I only lived in Phoenix for a brief 9 month period in 1990 so I’m not really familiar with what is what and where are the happenin’ places to go. I’ll be in the north Phx area (7th St right by North Mtn) and would rather not have to drive out to Mesa or Tempe or something if I can avoid it. Suggestions?

For the Phoenix meet: is that north of 101 and 17? I don’t know much about that area; I have no clue what could be a good place there, anyone from that area?
I’m thinking something downtown or just a bit farther north given the parameters of the meeting – I know that’s still a good ways from Opal, but it is fairly centralized, and it’s not all the way out in Tempe/Mesa. (In other words, I’m out east and don’t want to go all the way up to where Opal is staying. I know, keeping my own interests in mind. 
)

The food was, as always, nummers.
Afterward we hada bout 30 minutes to kill before my mom could come pic us up (doesn’t that sounds so high school?) so we took Yumanite’s recommendation and went to Epic Cafe down the street. It was open mic night, which was cool. Seems like a nifty place.

I was thinking the same thing when it comes to cheap – I’m a regular cheapskate anyway. What kind of cuisine do people like? What type of atmosphere?
As for the time, I myself will have to pretty much get there whenever I’m free anyway – almost definitely by 7.
