Turn ons and turn offs.

Another thread today got me thinking about what actualy turns me on, I went through the whole course of visualizing womens bodies in as many shapes and sizes as I could imagine. It quickly became apparent that the body was not much of a turn on, however it could easily be a turn off.

And then I started thinking about personalities, I went through the same course of running imaginary personalities past myself. When I found one I liked I assigned her a body. I was set back by my own reaction to various body types going with various personalities. One body type will be a total turn on with one personality and a total turn off with another.

I never realized how important the whole package actually was. I apologise to women if I am somehow objectifying them I don’t mean to. Kind of fun to be retired and have time to run silly thoughts past myself.

Well…thanks? I’ve often found that the whole package definitely matters when it comes to men. I really don’t care if you have my ideal body type if you are a jerk, but then I’ve never ever dated jerks, so I’ve managed to stay away from them on the whole.

That’s not to say those things don’t turn me on, it’s just that as you say the combination of a personality can rapidly turn me right back off.

As most people my age, I’ve had my share of partners and though I have my personal preferences, none of them seem to have much in common physically or personality wise. I’d have to say the one I most enjoyed (besides my current) would be considered the least “physically attractive” but was super dynamic and well liked (well, before we all became aware of his sociopathic tendencies). I’ve also been with some real lookers but couldn’t find enough else of substance to make me want to stay with them.

So I would agree that the total package is the ideal, but barring that, personality can mitigate a deficit of good looks. The reverse, not so much.

Exactly, yesterday I was reminiscing about some of the relationships that “could” have been. None of them were hotties. I regret being so superficial in my younger days. I use to have a secret crush on the lady that did our lab samples. Her eyes would just sparkle when she started talking chemistry but she had no sense of style and was as homely and frumpy as one could be. Looking back .I bet a makeover would have done wonders for her. I absolutely was turned on to her personality.

A nice boat and a new truck to pull it help out a lot as well.

A great laugh is very attractive to me, along with a very generous personality.

Kinda know what you mean. The other day I sold some furniture items on Craig’s List.

A man and his wife came by. The man was built like an upside down pyramid, with biceps as big as your head. He was also covered in what looked like gang tattoos. He was a sight to behold.

Then there was his wife. All of 4-foot-nuth’n. Pretty gal, but what really tickled me about this lady is the way she bossed her giant husband around. The whole time he was loading stuff from my house to his truck, his wife could NOT stop bitching at him. To hear her talk, you’d get the impression her husband can’t do anything right.

And every time she would quip at him, he would immediately acquiesce to her demands.

I don’t normally like ball bust’n bitches, but when a woman that small can command such obedience from an intimidating gentleman like her husband, I couldn’t help but admire this woman.
