TV shows or episodes set in Hawai'i

There is no reason for this thread. Here are some of the shows I came up with. I’d also like to pinpoint the exact islands the shows were set on if possible.

  1. Hawaii Five-O
  2. Baywatch Hawaii
  3. Magnum P.I.
  4. Brady Bunch goes to Hawaii
  5. Growing Pains in Maui

Please add any you know.

There was an awful show called “Birds of Paridice”.
Fantasy Island did a remake or TV movie in '98 or so.
Barnaby Jones shot an episode in Lahaina, Maui.
So did Hart to Hart… I saw them filming some stunt driving.
Growing pains was filmed on Maui. My wife was an extra.

sorta …
“Gilligan’s Island” started out as a three hour tour from somewhere in Hawaii

Only the pilot of Gilligan’s Island was shot there.

No one ever includes a short lived detective series starring Robert Conrad, Connie Stevens and Russell Johnson called “Hawaiian Eye”.

“Hawaiian Eye”, with the incomparable Connie Stevens.

Also Jake and the Fatman moved here for its last season.

Weren’t there a lot of shows in the 70s that took vacations to Hawaii? And didn’t the main characters always run into Don Ho?

McCloud did an episode from there (it was nice to see Waikiki without all the oppressive hotels).

Jake and the Fatman relocated to Hawaii with its second season.

Timothy Busfield was in Byrds of Paradise for a single season. Set on Kauai, I believe.

Brian Keith was a doctor running a clinic on Oahu in The Brian Keith Show.

Raven is a ninja TV show in Hawaii. How could that have gone wrong?

Richard Grieco failed to bring either himself or UPN fame and fortune with Marker in 1995

Cheryl Ladd was a medical examiner in One West Waikiki.
That is what my wife and I came up with on our own rememberances. Here is what I could find with some searching at IMDb.

Debbie Reynolds in Aloha Paradise. Which appears to have been some kind of combination of The Love Boat and Fantasy Island.

Big Hawaii (1977) appears to have been a combination of Bonanza and Big Valley. Set on the Big Island.

The Diamond Head Game, hosted by Bob Eubanks remains the only national game show to have been hosted out of Hawaii.

In Hawaiian Heat, two Honolulu police detective get to live with Tracy Scoggins

Would “All in da Ohana” count for you?

I remember when the Jeffersons went to Hawaii.

Saved by the Bell did a movie-length feature in Hawaii, and Tiffany Amber-Theissen looked the best she ever did or has since. Oh, by the way, the movies sucked.

There was an episode or The Rockford Files set, and I’m pretty sure filmed, in Hawaii.

Isn’t that where all failing sitcoms go to try to boost ratings? And what is the obsession with the place; I can’t stand it, myself.

I thought it provided a working vacation for the cast and crew, and then later anyone in the audience who’s been to Hawaii can feel superior pointing out discrepancies like car chases through Wahiawa that end in fiery crashes over by Blowhole.

Oh man, I loved that, where is Bumatai now anyway?

One more:
Island Son or something like that with Richard Chamberlen playing a doctor. This was shot at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu.

Tell me more …

90210 went to Hawai’i too, I remember, but what island? …

There was a Look for Less Hawaii.

Hmm, I thought “All in the Ohana” (I misremembered the title which is no surprise I haven’t seen it in 20 years) was a series but it turns out it was just a local special. So it’s probably not what you’re looking for. Oh well I was 7 or so at the time. As for the plot it kinda reminded me more of “Mama’s Family” then “All in the Family.”

Andy’s bio. I wonder why I thought he was in Vegas.

Ok, I got one to replace that one. “Game On” for G4TV was filmed in Hawaii for awhile.
