TV shows we MUST have on DVD

I’d forgotten about that show! I don’t remember loving it, but I remember liking it a lot. Could just have been the Piven factor, though.

Very excellent, thanks! In fact, I took a gander at the October releases and discovered that the 1st season of Taxi is scheduled to be available on the 12th. I can’t believe I left that show off my list! :smack:

See post #43.

The Avengers

Dianna Rigg. In leather. Yum.

Get your credit card out

Quadruple ditto on animated Tick.

I thought of another show: Grand

Anyone remember it? Bonnie Hunt? Set in Oklahoma? I don’t know why they cancelled it.

I’m thinking about a show that was on the 80s sometime; I can’t remember the name. It was set in one of those wheat states like Kansas or Nebraska (I think Nebraska). The only episode I can remember is this family had a cute little chubby son who was on the school wrestling team, and he had to wrestle a girl. I think the kids in the family all had Greek names but I might be confusing it with another show.

One more vote here for Night Court and The Golden Girls . Here’s hoping that A&E and Lifetime get their act together soon!

Square Pegs (I was a Patti who wanted to be Muffy), and I pray daily for Daria to be releaed from whatever deal MTV made with the dev…Nickelodeon/Noggin. I read somewhere that while they’re running it, MTV’s not allowed to pursue a DVD release.

Thank you, I was just thinking of Doctor, Doctor today and how much I wish it were out on DVD. I was going to start a thread about it but it slipped my mind, and slipped it again for this thread.

And Max Headroom goes without saying, both the ABC series and the HBO talk show incarnation.

Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood.

How ‘bout Bailey Scenes’ Quarters?

These have already been released! Congrats!

I want to add:

Beakman’s World (complete seasons, not the 2 ep disc)

The Electric Company

A DVD of the best of Cartoon Network promos

Hijack: The screenwriter of which you speak was none other than Evan Hunter, who wrote a lot of good books and also mysteries as Ed McBain. He is a jazz piantist who worked clubs at night while teaching during the day before taking off as a very prolific writer.

There was a 1950’s TV series based on his 87 Precient mysteries. I don’t know if it’s out on DVD.

I loved that show. What a blast from the past!

I just pre-ordered Newsradio. Thank you, Tentacle Monster!

I’ve gotta second Undeclared. I love that show. It had such a great cast.

I also need ***Degrassi Junior High * ** and Degrassi High. I can do without The Kids of Degrassi Street, though, as I never watched it. I’m a little embarrassed by wanting those, as I was always a good 5 years older than the kids on the show. But damn, that was compelling Canadian drama!

Oh, and my husband wants Quincy.

MTV’s The State. 'nuff said.

I remember Grand. I don’t recall Bonnie Hunt being on it, but I remember the little chubby girl was Sara Rue.

And I think the other show you’re talking about was called Heartland. I only remember one actual episode, where the family’s “pet” lamb was hit by a piece that fell off an airplane, or something, and they were forced to eat her. Was that the same show you’re thinking of?

Throw another vote for It’s Your Move. I only vaguely recall it, but I know I watched it because I had the mother of all crushes on Jason Bateman.

If you liked the 87th Precinct series, you might also like Naked City (1958-63) which is available on DVD. See Gene Hackman, Robert Duvall, Carroll O’Conner, Burgess Meredith, Diahann Carroll, et al earlier in their careers.

Give me an

Dragnet
Adam-12
Emergency

Box set and I’ll be Jack Webb happy.

Arrested Development is coming next month.

I’ll umpteenth NewsRadio and add The Brak Show and Beavis and Butthead.
