Twas the Week Before Christmas and All Thru the MMP

**FCD **and I had miscellaneous stuff for supper - I cut up the ham from yesterday and we each had some. I ate some leftover veggies, he had olives and radishes. Like I said - miscellaneous.

A box of clothes came for RoxStar - it’s the stuff I ordered last week. She’s got one more outfit due on Weds. Best dressed baby in the house!

**DocJack **- we moved once right before Thanksgiving. NOT the smartest move we ever made, but we survived. On the other hand, it was 33 years ago. No way we’d try that today.

OK, time to assume the crochet position and chill a bit.

pokes haid in
I meant to post this morning, but I was on my way to irk, and I forgot… Irk was irksome. Glad you are feeling better Swampy… Nothing much else to report… sure have missed you guys tho!

Howdy Y’all! I actually did get productive today. I cleaned the master bathroom and the kitchen. I could have done more but didn’t. We had steak, sallit, and baked sweet N.O.T. for sup.

Doc yay on the new digs, but boo on movin’ right now. I moved durin’ Turkey Day week once and that was stressful enough.

Wetone yay for good test results!

Bumba I get antsy around anybody who even looks like he/she might be thinkin’ about gettin’ sick.

doggio I kept sayin’ “I’m not dead! I’m gettin’ better!” all weekend.

ETA: {{{Pearl}}} ::tackle hug::

I cleaned my desk and computer keyboard the other day. Hoo boy, what a revolting job that is.

We had burgers for supper along with baked beans. It will get us by until the next one.

I have three purty new windows in the master bedroom. One of them is an egress window so it looks like a small picture window. There are seven more to do so maybe they will all be finished on Wednesday. My new ceiling fans should be here this week as well.

Mooommmmm RoxStar will get six more sets of clothes this week too.

Glad your gall bladder is fine WetOne.

Bumba yes, that is exactly what they teach in Active Shooter training. In French for the Haitians, in Spanish for the Cubans and English for the rest of us. I got to watch/listen to all three. Then the Director told us all about his career. :roll eyes:

Yaaaaay! You’re back swampy!

Glad your tests went well wet one. I hope that your world brightens up soon.

Doc, I’m another vetran of a Thanksgiving move. While it was nice to have a long weekend to do it, I missed out on some of the festivities.

My department had a welcome aboard lunch for our newest geek today. It was catered by Chipotle. Much better than the holiday lunch. The maintainence guy unclogged my kitchen sink while I was at irk, so I have the dishes from last evening’s supper to wash as well as today’s dishes. One load of laundry is in the wash and another in the dryer. The floor has been vaccuumed and the sink scoured from the disposal gunk that was in it. I’s tahred and still have dishes and folding laundry to do.

**Butters **- my daughter told me stuff was on the way from you. That kid has a bigger wardrobe than I do!!!

For some reason, she likes to watch Jeopardy. No idea why - it’s not like there’s lots of music and action or anything. Maybe she has a crush on Trebek??

It’s been a long day. I’m thinking I’ll crash early tonight.

I need to pickup something for a cat. & I wanted to frame a poster (that I don’t have yet); other than that, everything has either been given already or is in need of yet-to-be-purchased wrapping paper.
WetOne, glad you got good looking lab results.
Swampy, so you went to bed & feel better now? Isn’t that the hooman version of turn it off & back on?

I did:

[li]Mon - settlement[/li][li]Wed - kid[/li][li]Thurs - move[/li][/ul]

well yesterday was meh because a hot mess of a distant cousin/niece managed to finally get her self killed on the back of a stolen motorcycle at 100 mph as they were being chased by the police and hit a guard rail on a free way intersection a lot of people think they had probably went and did a drug deal

I think I met her all of 3 times when she was a kid …. left 3 kids behind who have issues of their own

The grimly amusing part is everyone who (rightly or wrongly) disowned her in the past 5 or more years for her sex and drugs lifestyle… wouldn’t take her kids when they were basically homeless ect is acting like she was preparing for sainthood and how she was their bests relative buddy ……

Family be crazy……

On a personal front might help bake Christmas cookies problem is my addiction to all things cookie dough …. lets see how many make it ……

Had chorizo egg and cheese chilie rellanos with hasbrowns for brunch, vacuumed, cleaned the kitchen, walked Gordie 5 times, and napped. Drinking a Czech Yourself

[sup][sup]11[/sup][/sup]

Pearl!
: tacklehug :

At least she didn’t need a Cat Scan*

You gave birth?:dubious:

[sub][sub]*my artwork. Feel free to borrow. Or pay me, I’m flexible like that[/sub][/sub]

Shady - it’s what people do.

Several times I have been to funerals where the priest and family were talking up the deceased so much that I had to look around to make sure I was at the right funeral. The person they were describing sure wasn’t the person I knew.

Another time I guy I knew died. He was a real sob. If you met him you would have liked him, he could be very charming, but underneath he was pretty bad. His family didn’t want anything to do with him, but after he died you’d thought he’d walked on water. They even turned on his wife and mil, accusing them of killing him, whereas before they had been sympathetic towards them because of the way he was.

Doc I’m still working my way through a pre-Thanksgiving move right now. I got into the house. I got my appliances. Almost nothing is unpacked though. Everything is boxes. It’s stressful. :frowning:

Bumba I’m sorry about your friend. I hope memories of him bring happy thoughts as well.

I do not understand this list at all. You split up, then had a kid, then moved? :frowning:

I talked to the Orthopedic Surgeon today. I have torn something in my knee, probably a meniscus. He ordered an MRI, and then we’ll discuss whether I need surgery. I am grumpy.

We have done nothing for Christmas yet. Hopefully this week.

Howdy all. Spent the morning getting the indoor soccer sorted out, the afternoon reading, and the evening wrapping Xmas gifts. So for me, a fairly productive day.

Sunny, hope the knee isn’t as serious as the Dr. thinks and you can get better with therapy instead of an operation.

With funerals, I’ve never gone to one for somebody I didn’t care for, so I don’t know about people putting on a ‘face’ for it. I do feel sad for those kids, shady, they’ve had a raw deal in life and I doubt it going to get better for them.

wetone, good news on the gall bladder–had mine yanked 30 years ago (if you ever get a bad case of gallstones, you’ll want that sucker out of you as fast as possible).

Moooooomm, maybe it’s the movement and the flashing lights for the answer. Or something else, no one knows the mind of a baby.

Butters, you now need a sign pointing to that one window that says “This way to the great egress”.

Bat boy, wish you hadn’t reminded me that my computer desk needs cleaning. Ugh.

Bumba, I think that’s standard ‘active shooter’ training, at least for US Government folks; don’t know about commercial companines, but I suspect it pretty universal.

swampy, it’s been about 2 years since I was sick enough to be confined to bed; must be my good habits and moral upbringing… (HA!!!)

All y’all take care now.

Yep, a little after 0400 here, and I’m watching a rerun of Peter Gunn on MeTV, thinking of cooking an egg and some meat for breakfast.

How is it that stuff that was on TV nearly 60 years ago is much more entertaining (not to mention thought-provoking) than any thing on TV today? Well. There it is. Or maybe it’s only because I’m an old so-and-so…

Good day to all.

Toto, I don’t think we are in Kansas anymore…
At about 2AM, the squall line blew through. There was much thudding, house moaning and debris flying, and it has kept it up since. From the sound of it, this wind is starting just the other side of the north pole, and nothing has impeded it from there. In keeping with New England weather, Friday is going to be 35 degrees warmer, and the weather guessers are calling for two+ inches of rain. I just hope that it gets to being not so loud outside so I can get some sleep.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

I guess it depends. I’ve rewatched stuff I once thought was great, and now I just cringe at the lame story lines and cheesy dialog. Maybe not 60 years old, but still - have you rewatched Kojak? OMG!!!:eek::eek: And people rave about I Love Lucy, but holy crap, and I do mean crap! Maybe it was special in the context of the times, but it didn’t age well.

Heck, I thought My Mother The Car was an amazingly funny show. Then I found it on YouTube - how did it even get made??

OK, that’s all. And I’m not saying stuff today is any better - some is, but much sucketh mightily. Plus there are so many more channels full of crap TV. Parking Wars? Really??

Oh, yeah, Happy Tuesday! :D:D:D

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 40 Amurrkin out and dark (TWPTB say clear) with a predicted high of 65 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I am pretty much back to myself and thus must adult today. I have a follow-up with the tooth doctor this mornin’ at ten, and then, since I will already be in town and nearer than I would be otherwise, I shall head over to the church house to perform candle duty. There is a service called The Longest Night on Thursday night, a service for those who grieve durin’ the holidays. I figure since I will be less than five miles away and almost a straight shot from the tooth doctor’s office, why not do it then. Then I get to come back to da cave to do laundry and some more cave spiffin’. We shall sup upon chili/cheese/slaw dawgs and fries. Fart fest to follow.

Sunny hope the knee problem is the easiest fix possible.

Alien yikes! Squall lines, howlin’ winds and such are not fun especially at night. Hurricane Michael wreaked its havoc upon us durin’ the night in October.

Spidey yeah basically. When I feel really sick I pretty much shut myself down and then reboot.

{{{Shady}}} it is tragic when someone we know, relative or not, chooses to do what your distant relative did. The most tragic part bein’ those three kids. Like MetalMouse said, they got handed a rotten deal.

As to teevee shows of yore. Some are fun to re-watch. Others are a pain to re-watch. None, however, are as bad as today’s “reality” shows. I mean, Desparate Bargain Hoarder Bounty Hunter Houseflipper Housewife, Makeover, Whatevers. Seriously!?!?

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I must purtify and don goin’ about the public attire. Life is just so hard!

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Oof! is tackled/hugged
(((()))) for Shady Will pray for your young relatives… They have had some "life’s not fair " in spades… I wish people wouldn’t take their feelings about adults out on little kids :frowning:
Up and mostly dressed, for alas, there is irk today. I’m hoping as the holiday approaches, there will be less call volume thus so less irksome.

A good Tuesday to all ya’ll.

Happy Toosday!

It’s cold outside, but suppose to warm up to 43.

I did not want to get up this morning. I was speeling pretty well when my son came to wake me up. I forgot my phone downstairs, so when he heard the alarm he got me up.

We got the desk upstairs and teh TV moved to the other side of my room. Now watching TV before bed is a lot ore comfortable. I like to lay on my left side and I had to lay on my right to watch tv.

Some old tv is better, some is worse. Mostly I have seen it all and am bored with it.

Nothing special to do today. It’s trim toenail, ear cleaning day for the dog.
