Twickster, why did you close Claire98909's post in IMHO?

Please advise - very scared about vaginal bleeding (WARNING GORY PICTURES)

Medical advice threads are allowed in IMHO, with the explicitly stated caveat in the Agreement that posters consider the source.

Idle Thoughts
moderated an abusive post and left the thread open.

Under what rationale did you close it?

Because I didn’t realize I was out of my forum (I’d gotten cced on some discussion by the IMHO mods, so thought it was an MPSIMS thread). I’ll reopen on the basis of “not my call.”

Thanks for the response.

I move that this thread be closed on basis of “asked and answered, and no need to beat up on twickster”.

All in favor say “aye” …

Is it just a coincidence that “aye” and “yea” are anagrams? I suspect a conspiracy.

At least “no” and “on” are proper opposites.

I vote “eya”.

Minor point of order, if it were in fact in MPSIMS would it have been better to move it rather than close it?

But medical advice threads are allowed.

They’re not allowed in MPSIMS, which is the forum that twickster moderates.

(I admit, if it had been closed in MPSIMS instead of moved to IMHO, I would have asked why, as well.)

It still doesn’t make any sense at all to close it, as you indicate. If it was a post about The Amazing Race, it would have been moved to Cafe Society. If it was a post about the 2014 elections, it would have been moved to Elections.

What is the justification for closing it if it had been in MPSIMS?

NO and ON are polar opposites even. If you turn ON upside down it says NO. That’s how you know which way a light switch gets installed (if you hold it upside down it says NO).

I closed it because the way I read IdleThought’s mod note, he intended to close it – I thought I was implementing a decision that another mod had already made. Apparently I misinterpreted what he said, in addition to my being in the wrong forum.

All in all, an object lesson on why modding goes better after the caffeine has fully kicked in.

That makes sense. Thanks.

Thanks for the clarification.

Based on the flak mods get no matter what they do, I would have thought that the above should read:

“after the **alcohol **has fully kicked in”

or
“after the **drugs **has fully kicked in”

:p:D

I assume posting “or” instead of “and” was a typo?

Caffeine is definitely a drug.

Gonna go get me some more right now!

I vote √-1

What, no mention of a poster named “Black Bisector” commenting in a thread about vaginal bleeding from vigorous agitation?

Is it only me, or do others always think the phrase ought to be “abject lesson”?

After all, object lessons (I’m not commenting on this one in particular) are often abject.

Was there an announcement about her banning or did I miss it?
