Twin Peaks 2nd season DVD

OK - so the series was slightly more popular in Europe than the US, but can I still don’t understand why the 2nd season is not available on DVD in the US.

Why is this???

All I can find online are PAL/Region 2 versions…which my DVD doesn’t play…

Probably because most of the second season sucked rocks.

Aw, man, I opened this thread hoping to find some good news.

I’m with swannguy – where is the bloody thing, already? Yes, the second half of the second season was an embarrasment, but not the first half! The first half contains the best episodes of the series!

If you go to Amazon you can sign up to be notified when S2 is released on DVD and it will also count as a vote to the studio in favor of releasing it. Right.

There was last year a note at Amazon that the first half of S2 was supposed to be released in November 02 but obviously that didn’t happen. I wonder if it’s worth investing in a region 2 DVD player. I’m a tchno-idiot; would a region 2 player work in the US?

And yeah, I opened this thread hoping for good news too. Thanks for raising my hopes and then dashing them.

You could get an all-region player. Check some hack sites, your DVD player may be hackable with nothing more than a code from the remote. But then, PAL will be a problem.

Sorry for dashing people’s hopes of having news about the 2nd season DVD…But even if, according to the majority of the people, the second season sucked (I for sure don’t think so) that still is no reason why it’s not on DVD yet…

I’ve seen worse crap being brought out on DVD…

Man, I actually said “Woot!” out loud when I saw the thread title. Ah, well. I did vote for it on Amazon. (I’m sure that’ll do a fat lot of good.)

As an aside–what’s with the pilot not being on the season 1 DVD, anyway? I did get the pilot on DVD (as a gift), but it should have been part of the season 1 set.

I don’t recall the specifics, but IIRC there was a copyright issue with the pilot.

The pilot is owned by a different company. I believe it is owned by Warner Bors., while the rest is owned by Viacom, I beleive. The pilot was absoutley one of the best movies of 1990, theatrical or TV.

THe second season might have sucked, but it had the best episodes, notably the one where Laura’s cousin Maddy (?) is murdered, and of course the final episode. That one where Maddy is murdered, IMHO, is the best episode of any TV program I’ve ever seen. It’s really a masterpiece.

That was one of the most disturbing scenes I’ve ever seen on a TV show.

I, too, was jazzed to see the thread title. Damn. . .

Still, it’s a good question. I’ve had my season one DVD for what seems like ages. I simply assumed that season two would be coming along shortly. Are they seriously considering not putting the second season on DVD?
