But I don’t think that the delays and escalating costs are a good thing. We may take pleasure in the money that ML is losing, but it also means that Dominion will lose money, and I don’t take pleasure in that.
No, a swift and decisive (not to mention harsh) judgement would be better. I was just trying to find a silver lining in the cloud, not denying the existence of the cloud.
On the other hand, I feel very confident that Dominion’s actions in this regard are rigorously driven by the company’s best interests, and that they may be in a better position to judge those interests than the average internet message board poster.
Yes, legal things take time, including (or perhaps especially) large-dollar civil cases. This is not new, and it is, in my opinion, better than summary judgments based on inadequate preparation, which then get overturned.
I wouldn’t bet any quatloos on that. Those people are rather dense, and don’t absorb new lessons well. They’re more likely to double-down.
Driving Lindell and all his kindred souls into oblivion will be a heroic benefit to the nation’s political landscape. We should set up a multi-million-dollar GoFundMe to help the cause.
What’s to prevent Lindell from simply putting all his money into shell companies and claiming he doesn’t have any assets, as Alex Jones is allegedly doing?
Nothing really, other than the fact that failing to report them when asked in a deposition would be illgal and open him up to contempt of court charges. But that only works if you can find them. I have no doubt that Lindell is doing this. Earleir it was commented that Lindell was selling his plane, likely because its easier to hide money then aircraft.
Alternatively he can always try declaring fake bankruptcy again, but I think that someone in Dominion has probably read his book and so won’t be fooled.
Wouldn’t it be perjury, and lead to a prison sentence?
In a just world, yes, but you can see the initial problem there….
IANAL (I just work for one) but this is the sort of information that can brought to light through the discovery process. If his financial declaration has anomalies (and the chances of that are about equal to there being a full month about once a month) then his bank records, corporate records and even his Carpenters records can be subpoenaed.
The days of W.C. Fields’ secret bank accounts are long past.
Don’t you bring Karen into this! Richard, sure, no problem, but leave her alone. She doesn’t deserve association with Trump.
And any Wu-Tang records, too.
Wu-Tang is for the children. Is that what the Q-folk are always worried about?
One could describe this with even greater resolution or granularity by noting that the chances are about equal to there being a full day about once a day.
