Two and A Half Men 'Filth'

Yeah, but according to his recant, making millions while being in one of the top TV shows for more than half of his young life has only been “one of the most significant experiences in my life to date.”

Placing bets on the other being his “spiritual adviser’s teachings” waking him up.

I’ve said this on other sites, that I get an image of him being held by his feet by the producers and being dangled out an open window…“we still have a season to beat this show into the ground! We need this show desperately! Retract, you moron, RETRACT!” Though by his earlier diatribe, Angus T. has already helped a lot, bringing publicitiy to the filthy filthy show!

A popular sit-com on network TV for a decade is “filth”? Has this guy ever seen real filth? They don’t pay those standards and practices to keep TV clean for nothing, do they?

i don’t know why he’s bothering, once the kids in sitcoms turn into teenagers the shows start to tank.

To quote Tom Lehrer:“When correctly viewed, everything is lewd”.

What does the show have to do with Tulsa Night Life? filth, gin, a slut

I’m thinking that his tirade was written by the show’s PR people–“We need to stir up some shit here, milk this baby for another year–go out and say these lines, moron, maybe some dumb clucks will buy it.”

His “spiritual adviser” is probably his accountant.

I probably jinxed him. Just last week I commented to the wife that he seemed to have survived child stardom without drugs, wild parties or grievous mental illness. I got two of them right.

A child star can transition into adulthood in three ways, seems to me — following one of Jodie Foster, Gary Coleman, or Kirk Cameron. The Coleman Method remains by far the most popular, but it’s nice to see the Kirk Alternative get some love every once in a while.

As said above, apparently Jones hasn’t learned that grown up child stars in Hollywood tend to disappear pretty quickly. He should realize Jon Cryer is an exception, and a very lucky one at that, not the rule.

Of course Chuckles the Clown Sheen had to weigh in as he’s the expert in ‘Two and A Half Men’ meltdowns.

I’m sure somebody out there is coming up with an idea for a shitcom with Jones playing Kirk Camerons’ son.

“Two and A Half Brain Cells?”

I know humor is subjective, but I am impelled at every opportunity to shit on this show. Either they show the worst jokes during the ads for this piece of crap, or it’s maybe the least funny thing to ever be a hit “comedy”. I certainly don’t mind dirty jokes, quite the opposite actually. But I do kinda prefer them to be funny.

I agree. What sort of low bar is being set for filth these days? It just features some fairly hot fully clothed women and lots of innuendo as far as I can see.

I’m a little confused over how the apology is an apology - or even a walk-back.

Essentially, he said, “remember when I said that the show was filth, that I didn’t want to be on it, and that you shouldn’t watch it? Yeah, what I really meant is that the show is great, I do want to be on it, and you should watch it. I hope that clears things up.”

Well … I’d say it used to be funny in the same sort of way that Married With Children was arguably funny: unlikable (but not intensely so) persons act stupidly, say outrageous things, and tend to get what they deserve in the end. But what at first seems outrageous becomes expected and thus boring; the characters begin to grate more and more; there’s only so much mileage in ridicule, but the show offers no one to care about for any other reason.

I used to watch the show for the sole reason that it was one of the few that my SO and I could watch together. She stopped after Sheen was revealed to be an abuser, and I simply didn’t care enough to carry on watching it. Now I can hardly be in the same room that it’s playing without wanting to rip my hair out.

It’s still better than its brother Big Bang Theory, though.

Well when he donates all his blood money to charity, then I’ll pay attention.

I don’t mind most of the salacious aspects of the show. I do think the drawing out of Alan’s patheticness is getting jarring. They really need to give that character some winning.

The show is filth. Not that filth is bad but it’s a one-trick pony. I cringe when I see Big Bang Theory getting to be more like it.

As far as the video, that is pretty creepy. I get a weird vibe from it. Sorta like what happened to Kirk Cameron.

Kinda hard to take his view seriously. Even harder since he recanted. I can respect a principled stand, but this failed on all levels.

“It’s filth, don’t watch”. You are just gonna insult your audience? Where’s the “I have decided not to participate in the filth”??? If it wrong and filthy, then a person who participates and profits from it is wrong and filthy. Is this not a classic example of hypocrisy???
