You just can’t help yourself, can you?
Can’t help what?
Oh I get it. Men suck.
Sure, some do. If you’re one of those, cut it out.
I think some of the disconnect is that the “fiat-pumpers” are envisioning an idealized porno situation, where the two hot teachers just out of nowhere offer some no-strings-attached action and nothing more is said than some coy smiles.
That’s not a particularly common situation.
The fantasy just went to a very weird place.
And by “some” you really mean “most”. That much is obvious.
Because I think you have a potentially damaging take on sexual relationships between boys and their teachers, I think most men suck?
I begin to see why you struggle with ideas like “Don’t overgeneralize.”
Your words:
Oh yeah, I totally get the deep admiration and respect you must have for men.
Everyone does sucky things. I’m calling out a specific behavior by a sizable group of men. That doesn’t mean those men suck, or that they are all or most men. It means I think a specific behavior is bad.
Again, you seem to have trouble with generalizations. One specific behavior (at least one that’s this minor) does not make a sucky person. One sucky person does not make a sucky gender.
You are not speaking for men. You are speaking for you. I am not speaking for women. I am speaking for me. And I’m talking to you, not to every man in the world.
Shakes, jsgoddess, if you want to slag off on each other, go do it in the Pit. You’re getting off-topic with the personal attacks.

Not a fiat-pumper, but I’d be willing to risk it. Not all 16 year olds would be fine, and that needs to be recognized.
But lots of men are pretty sure they could have done this at 16 and not been damaged. It’s OK that it’s like that. You don’t have to convince us we’re wrong.
You don’t have to try so hard to convince us you’re right either…
Well most of the men here agree with Shakes. Doesn’t that count for something?
Not all, just some vocal ones. I’m sure a lot of board members saw the topic and thought, "Oh, please. Here we go again. " and moved on to the next thread.
I think I get to be right for myself.
Why would it? You may know, or think you know, how you would react to the situation. But you don’t know, even if you think you know, how every boy would react. He may be fine. He may not be fine. He may be a mixture of exhilarated and terrified and proud and grossed out.
That you don’t think it would be a problem for you doesn’t meant that it wouldn’t be a problem for someone else, or for you. There have been lots of things in my life I wanted or thought would be fine that turned out terrible or damaging.
But you’re still a Cleveland Indians fan.
Well, I’m not speaking in absolutes. You’re right, there is a chance this boy could be screwed up over this. But if I were a betting man, I’d bet the farm that he’s okay.
You ain’t even wrong.
